[Shiroko Sunaookami Cosplay] Blue Archive Gym Uniform Shiroko Photoshoot Log

This Shiroko Sunaookami gym uniform look had been in the works for quite a while, and I finally got to shoot it with photographer @Alarak. I've always felt Shiroko possesses a distinct aura; compared to her standard school uniform, this sportswear look carries an effortless, refreshing everyday charm, so we aimed for a clean, luminous visual style.

First, breaking down the overall styling: the wig was cut with defined layers to complement blunt bangs and a soft gray hair texture, while light blue contact lenses were chosen to accentuate her iconic eyes. The black animal ears atop the head are made of plush faux fur, pinned on one side with a pale blue cross hairclip. The outfit features the classic blue, black, and white color-blocked track jacket worn over a cropped white base top, paired with a dark mini skirt and white stockings reaching the knee. For props, aside from the basic accessories, I specifically prepared the pale blue circular halo. The first shot was taken without the halo, offering a quieter mood, whereas the second frame instantly elevated the character's visual identity the moment the halo was added—completely transforming the atmosphere.

The shoot took place against a seamless pure white cyclorama wall paired with a soft white plush rug. We used uniform high-key lighting, which puts garment textures and body silhouettes to the test. To keep the frames from falling flat, the photographer added soft side lighting, ensuring that the jacket zipper, sleeve striping, and hair layers remained crisply discernible. Remaining seated on the mat throughout the session meant micro-adjustments in posing were essential. For instance, crossing my legs in the first photo visually lengthened the calves; in the second photo, opening the jacket slightly to reveal the cropped top and waistline while lightly grazing the collar and leaning forward introduced dynamic energy, naturally elongating the leg lines accentuated by the white stockings.

As a regular cosplayer, I feel that when shooting anime cosplay characters with athletic motifs, one must avoid stiff poses and tap into a relaxed yet quietly cool demeanor. Shiroko has a naturally calm and composed temperament, so overly bubbly expressions don't fit—the emotion has to be conveyed through subtle postures and micro-expressions. The photographer captured candid moments with incredible precision; that gentle head tilt in the second photo framed the halo and animal ears completely. The metallic gleam of the jacket zipper and the subtle sheen of the athletic fabric looked exceptionally crisp against the white background.

Having shot plenty of location work and busy backgrounds in the past, choosing an all-white environment actually concentrated visual attention squarely onto the clothing and body language. The plush mat not only ensured comfortable seating during long takes, but also added rich textural dimension to the lower half of the frame, keeping the white backdrop from feeling sterile. The final results faithfully realized my vision for gym uniform Shiroko—the visual contrast between the white stockings and sportswear felt immensely satisfying to shoot.
