[Mari Iochi cosplay] Blue Archive's healing Qipao: Wearing this might just be the look Sensei loves

This time, I completed a new photoshoot for Mari Iochi from Blue Archive, specifically choosing a short blue-and-white modified Qipao infused with traditional Chinese elements. Compared to conventional uniform designs, this Qipao style offers a distinct sense of gentleness, visually highlighting the character's lightness and vivacity.

For makeup and hair styling, to match Mari Iochi's original setting as closely as possible, I chose an orange-gold shade for the wig with rich volume; neat straight bangs combined with long side locks frame the face nicely. The fox ears on top and the bright orange headpiece with star elements form the soul of this styling, paired with light blue bow hair ties to achieve visual color balance. For makeup, I opted for a clear, light look rather than heavy foundation, emphasizing the character's gentle yet playful eyes through soft contacts and eye makeup.

Regarding outfit materials, the white base fabric carries a matte, delicate texture. The Qipao cut is form-fitting, with light blue piping around the neckline and waist giving the 2D design immediate 3D layering. Across my shoulders and outer arms, I draped a plush white faux rabbit fur scarf; this vast white fluffy texture adds autumn/winter warmth, softens the briefness of the short Qipao, and echoes the character's fluffy kemonomimi aesthetic. The custom transparent embroidered folding fan in hand, with blue and white floral patterns and long flowing tassels, serves as a great action point during shooting.

Venue selection involved careful thought. A dark wooden bench, a wooden grid screen, pink flower branches, and antique palace lanterns created an immersive indoor scene. Warm drapery and soft lighting fit the cozy atmosphere. The photographer used wooden structures as foreground bokeh to create a story-like peek perspective.

Posing avoided rigid stand-up stances. Sitting cross-legged on the wooden bench showed a cozy, lazy vibe. White stockings and lake-blue ankle-strap heels elongated leg lines. Holding the fan or powder compact guided focus to hand props.

Blue Archive fans value daily healing vibes, so I kept expressions subtle with gentle smiles. Indoor warm lighting gave a soft-focus filter effect, creating a nice contrast between cool blue-whites and warm woods/oranges.

Managing wigs and furry props takes energy. The complex star headpiece needed firm root attachment. Despite heavy neck weight during long shoots, the clear, cute result made it worthwhile.

Blending traditional Qipao cut with white stockings and Mari's signature beast ears merges Anime cosplay elements with Chinese aesthetic appeal. Overall, a smooth, refreshing photoshoot experiment.
