[Shiroko Sunaookami Cosplay] Blue Archive: Today's Poolside Duty Log

For this swimsuit location shoot, we chose a semi-open tropical pool. The overall environment blended beautifully with the color palette of the outfit. The black-and-blue one-piece swimsuit looks exceptionally refreshing visually. Combined with the silver-gray twin tails and the iconic animal ears, walking to the poolside naturally integrated into the summer atmosphere.

Regarding the restoration of this outfit, the luster of the wig under intense outdoor sunlight was managed quite well, avoiding any harsh, unnatural plastic reflections. The tips of the animal ears were treated with layered faux fur to look more three-dimensional. Securing the cyan halo accessory above the head took quite a bit of effort—we needed to maintain a floating illusion while ensuring it wouldn't drop during larger movements. Ultimately, a hidden bracket setup was used to achieve a relatively natural effect.

The lighting on the day of this summer outdoor photography session was incredibly abundant. The afternoon sun filtered through the veins of nearby tropical plants, creating beautiful sparkling ripples on the pool surface. Choosing such a tight swimsuit for the shoot demands a high degree of physical extension in the poses. Fortunately, the fabric of this swimsuit offered enough elasticity, so neither the preparatory movements before entering the water nor the posture of leaning against the ladder to rest felt tight or restrictive. The first full-body photo standing with a bag was mainly to showcase the overall body proportions; the second half-body close-up leaning by the window emphasized facial features and headpiece details; the third snapshot of lying on the pool ladder was the most relaxed set, perfectly capturing the caustics of water ripples refracting onto the face; the fourth pose of bending down to hold the knees elongated the leg lines, which, paired with the black sports bag and water bottle by the legs, felt more like a sporty youth character.

When taking photos normally, I am used to concentrating attention on the expression of the eyes, trying to fit the character's temperament through a relaxed state of being. Although wearing a thin swimsuit, the shooting process wasn't as tense as imagined. The surrounding environment enclosed by green plants allowed me to naturally loosen up. No overly complex props were needed—just the pool water, the deck, and the midday sunlight could compose a frame full of that summer-exclusive feel. The hairstyle would occasionally get a bit messy from the wind during the shoot, but smoothing it out on the fly also turned into genuine candid snapshot material.

A pool environment is actually a rather interesting choice for anime cosplay. Unlike indoor studio shoots, the outdoor reflector effect and water reflections can add many unpredictable surprises to the frame. The biggest feeling after wrapping up this time is that although shooting outdoors in summer is hot, as long as we can output a satisfying natural light effect, soaking in sweat is well worth it. A suitable swimsuit cosplay plus precise detail restoration can display a highly vivid state in the right weather. Alright then, this set of photos by the pool is the assignment I'm turning in for this summer look.
