[Misaki cosplay] Blue Archive: Misaki Qipao Look Delivering Anime Legs

Preparing and shooting this qipao look for Misaki cosplay took a lot of thought. The wig was chosen in deep blue, styled with two round high buns and neatly trimmed bangs. Topped with the silver crescent-curved hair accessory, the overall silhouette emerged immediately. In makeup, reddish-brown tones were blended across a wide area of the eyelids, with heavy eyeliner and eyelashes to emphasize the cool, detached aura of a 2D character on camera. The outfit is an altered sleeveless qipao top crafted from dark blue jacquard fabric, featuring light blue piping and gold trim around the collar. The prominent golden embroidered motif across the chest is striking, paired with a blue tassel frog button. On my arms, I wore gray-and-black striped detached sleeves with black fingerless gloves, offering rich layers without restricting hand movement.

The bottom was styled with black shorts and Black stockings; in Photo 3, I switched to black high heels, making my overall proportions appear even more slender. The photoshoot was set amidst traditional Chinese furniture, featuring a rosewood Luohan daybed and armchair, backed by red plum blossoms, pink flower branches, and calligraphy gauze drapes. These intense traditional colors created a powerful visual contrast with the deep blue costume.

During the shoot, I sat on the chair with one leg crossed, resting a hand on my knee or making loose, graceful hand gestures. The photographer shot from a slightly low frontal angle, using perspective to elongate the leg lines and evoke that distinct anime legs aesthetic. Wearing Black stockings is actually very particular about lighting and posture—any slight oversight can spoil the texture—so throughout the shoot, I continually adjusted leg angles, keeping knees together or extending one leg straight to project natural yet alluring tension. A plush blanket was placed underneath me to soften the composition, neutralizing the rigid lines of the rosewood furniture.

The entire shoot went smoothly; the look has numerous intricate details, especially the fabric texture and sheen of the stockings, which required coordinated lighting to shine. Looking at the finished photos, the clash between Chinese furniture and 2D cosplay attire was truly distinctive.
