[Ajitani Hifumi cosplay] Blue Archive Mid-Autumn Qipao Styling

For this Mid-Autumn Festival, the special look prepared for Sensei is Ajitani Hifumi. The attire is a white modified Qipao featuring a teardrop keyhole neckline, accented with gilded frog fasteners and floral ornaments, along with subtle pale-blue bamboo leaf motifs across the fabric. To enrich the visual layering, the lower half pairs black lace-trimmed shorts with sheer Black stockings and white high-heeled pumps. The wig is a long, straight pale blonde styled with twin topknot buns, topped with Hifumi's signature yellow halo and white feathered hairpieces.

Props included skewered red tanghulu (candied hawthorns), a circular silk fan painted with red plum blossoms, and a cute white character pouch. The studio was arranged with dark carved wooden folding screens, gilded faux foliage, crimson blossoms, and an ornamental white crane sculpture, creating a refined vintage Chinese aesthetic.

We experimented with several stances during the shoot. Lifting one leg playfully while hoisting the tanghulu high captured a lively charm. Crouching atop a circular pedestal while clutching the little pouch added a touch of endearing playfulness. My personal favorite is the shot seated on the wooden armchair with crossed legs, gently holding the silk fan. Seated poses flatter a qipao exceptionally well, allowing the hem to cascade naturally while showing off the sheer texture of the black stockings and the elegant contour of the legs. The plush white fur cuffs on the arms also gave the autumn look a cozier, well-balanced weight.

To capture this series cleanly, the lighting positions were adjusted multiple times. Warm golden key lights illuminated the golden leaves, supported by bounce reflectors to give the skin an ethereal, translucent glow. Photographer @A-Shuai Araw handled the framing and chiaroscuro with immense precision, catching numerous organic, unscripted moments. The costume crafted by @Qiezi Jiang i held up flawlessly under the camera, its textile luster gleaming under the studio strobes.

Though holding poses during a studio session drains energy and high heels inevitably make your arches ache after a while, seeing the finished deliverables made every ounce of effort worthwhile.
