To bring Dyadia from Honor of Kings to life, preparing this ensemble of green hair and red garments took quite a lot of thought and effort. When I first received the wig, I noticed its sheen and color tone needed rebalancing; the shade couldn't be too emerald-green, requiring a slightly cooler undertone to better match the original character design. Trimming the bangs and sidelocks also involved thinning them out millimeter by millimeter against the reference art. For the makeup, Dyadia's pink eyeshadow and matching colored contacts were the central focus—the outer corners had to be subtly elongated to capture an innocent yet cheeky demeanor. The outfit featured extensive details: wide sleeves with gold patterns over a crimson base, a spliced black vest with woven textures, and an intricately colored butterfly bow accessory at the chest. To faithfully capture the texture, I pinched and shaped each ribbon into place by hand.

This shoot was completed alongside my partner, who cosplayed Dasiming. Since we wanted to express that distinctive bond between Dasiming and Dyadia, we invested plenty of thought into the pose design. The first photo was our very first close-up set. Back then, I was closing my eyes to find the right emotion while my partner gently caressed my cheek, leaning in close. Because it was our first time shooting at such intimate proximity, as he drew near, I could even feel his wig brushing against my ear. A thought flashed across my mind: 'Dasiming, you're standing way too close...' Yet that delicate spatial tension aligned perfectly with the characters' dynamic, so I naturally tilted my head slightly and opened my eyes to look straight into the camera. The photographer pressed the shutter promptly, capturing that tentative yet intimate ambiance.

The second image adopted a selfie perspective facing the lens. Having warmed up from the earlier shots, leaning in cheek-to-cheek felt completely effortless. To keep the shot from looking stiff, I tilted my chin up slightly with a relaxed gaze, while my partner maintained his character's signature blend of warmth and subtle majesty. Sunlight brushed in from the side, illuminating the jacquard textures on the fabric. The trio of red, white, and black created a striking contrast under natural light, while the metallic hairpieces cast a delicate shimmer.

The third pose was by far the most relaxed. I lowered my head slightly and closed my eyes, gently resting my weight against my partner's shoulder, imagining the character's serene, quiet companionship. My partner tilted his head in response, resting his chin gently atop my hair. We could feel the soothing warmth of the sun baking our clothes. Throughout the shoot, the rich layering of this costume pleasantly surprised me—especially the golden prints on the broad sleeves, which shifted gracefully along with the light as I moved. Although shooting outdoors laden with heavy accessories left us drenched in sweat, checking and refining every tiny detail proved entirely worthwhile to achieve the best possible result.

When color-grading this set, we avoided oversaturating the palette, retaining the fresh, natural green tones of the outdoor environment to ensure the visual weight stayed anchored on the characters and their outfits. Bringing a beloved heroine into reality in my own way and recreating these interactions with my partner made for an exceptionally fulfilling photoshoot. Expressing an understanding of a character bit by bit through body language and shared gazes is truly the most captivating aspect of cosplay.
