For this Wuthering Waves custom design photoshoot, the two characters you see, Hsin and Qingxiao, are actually custom settings we brainstormed ourselves based on the game's world view. The visual contrast between red-white and blue-white, paired with ancient-style sets and full-moon light and shadow, creates an immensely rich atmosphere.

During the outfit preparation stage, we paid special attention to materials and details. For the red off-the-shoulder outfit I wore, the golden patterns and embroidery were hand-crafted by my partner and me. The contrast is extremely high, turning out remarkably eye-catching on camera. My partner's Qingxiao cosplay attire—with blue-and-white light gauze and pearl strands—focused on ethereal elegance, where rounded pearl beads and exquisite blue gemstone accessories created lovely layers under flashlights.

We put a lot of thought into the set design. The huge glowing moon prop behind us provided excellent fill lighting in darkness, especially when shooting side close-ups, creating crisp rim lighting along hair strands to make silhouettes more three-dimensional. On set, we also set up Chinese bamboo and wooden tables, paper lanterns, and deliberately hid a few plum blossom branches and scrolls in dark corners, creating a relaxed vibe of moon-gazing in a private residence.

For action interaction, we designed several different states. There were gentle moments looking profile-to-profile while lightly cradling the chin, requiring us to be very close without blocking each other's vision while controlling expressions. There was also a scene lying back on a low couch holding hands; achieving this relaxed feel required absolute trust between partners to pose naturally. Mid-shoot, to adjust smoke flow, we laid on the couch repeatedly for over ten minutes at a time. Though a bit stuffy, seeing positive feedback from team members on set made every hardship feel worth it.

In the vast world of Wuthering Waves, the custom design for "Hsin" and "Qingxiao" merged Xianxia elements we individually loved. In particular, adding animal ear elements broke the constraints of conventional mechanical vibes, giving characters an extra touch of agility. Partners @一只小羊🐏 and @一头野菜豚 showed immense expressive power before the lens, acting with expressive eyes and seamless tacit coordination.

The entire shoot was quite a physical test; large sleeves and long trailing skirts could easily look bulky at certain angles. We needed small fans on set continuously blowing the skirt hem to create a floating sensation, or adjust poses to compensate for garment heavy weight. Precisely because of these hands-on adjustments, the final photos achieved the exact texture and quality we wanted in Anime-style photography.

I truly enjoyed the process of translating visual images from my mind into real photography before the camera. This photoshoot also carries my heartfelt understanding of these custom design cosplay characters, and I hope it leaves a lasting impression on everyone.
