The biggest takeaway from this summer is that my weight loss plan completely fell through—didn't lose a single pound, and my tummy is still adorably chubby. I guess only I know about all those late-night snacks I sneaked in. When preparing for this Wuthering Waves Chisaki Peach Ice cosplay, the pressure regarding my figure was actually quite real, as the outfit is rather short and easily exposes the midriff.

Arriving at the pool on the day of the shoot, seeing the mosaic tiles everywhere along with the prepared pink water gun and yellow swim ring immediately gave off a refreshing chill. This costume is packed with intricate details: white-and-pink gingham patterns, lace-up chest ties, a dramatic bow on the bottom, leg straps, and ruffled wrist cuffs, creating a wonderfully playful summer vibe once put on. The wig was styled in long straight black hair with twin tails, accented with small white flowers on the side; maintaining it required meticulous care to keep sweat from ruining the styling. Because the shoot mostly involved sitting in the water or perching on rocks, the chilly water and slick pool tiles meant I had to be extremely careful with my footing and keep my movements steady. For instance, holding my balance on one foot while standing on a rock took a surprising amount of effort.

The main focus was the tummy issue I had been dreading. Since I hadn't slimmed down, I really couldn't afford to let my guard down during the shoot. To downplay my tummy, I made sure to face the camera at an angle or three-quarter tilt, or used the layered structure of the outfit for strategic coverage. For the series where I knelt in the water, intentionally letting the water ripples and shadows help conceal it, paired with gently tightening my core, produced surprisingly flattering results that didn't look chubby at all. The shots spraying the water gun were so much fun, capturing the exact moment the water droplets splashed down; even though I got soaked, it added a lively, refreshing burst of energy.

For this anime-style photography session, the overall makeup was tailored to the outfit's soft pink tones—light, tender, and clean—which, combined with the gentle natural light, yielded a wonderfully soft and pleasing texture. Embracing my true self made me realize that while weight loss might be a long-term journey, it certainly didn't stop me from fully showcasing Chisaki Peach Ice in front of the lens. The palette of this pink-themed outfit contrasted brilliantly with the azure pool, fitting the summer theme to perfection. Although the shoot was a bit exhausting with getting soaked repeatedly, looking at the final shots made me realize it was a meaningful way of documenting who I am right now. Capturing today's cuteness along with a little bit of softness is its own kind of authentic beauty.
