The plan for this Duo photoshoot with my partner was made well in advance, taking plenty of thought from location scouting to settling on the theme. I cosplayed my signature hero while my friend coordinated with me; having promised to grow up together, we incorporated many symbolic elements into the shoot—such as fluffy plushies and a maidenly pink-and-purple backdrop. The atmosphere on set was actually full of laughter; with a playful kid nearby jokingly shouting for us not to fight anymore, it turned into an 'if you can't beat them, join them' comedic moment, perfectly capturing our unbreakable sisterly bond. We originally thought it would just be a casual shoot between the two of us, but the photographer called in helping friends, turning a duo into four and instantly enlivening the set.

Since the theme leaned heavily toward 2D anime and sweet maiden styles, styling the wardrobe and wigs was quite challenging. The wig was styled with Kemonomimi girl ears and twin tails; balancing a full, voluminous silhouette without making the ears look unnatural took significant effort during adjustments. The wardrobe was meticulously coordinated: the blonde character wore White stockings paired with a Lolita-esque pink lace ruffle dress and a red bow. In refining the details, we readjusted the accessory proportions multiple times so the visual effect harmonized with the room setting. The green-haired character wore a red-and-white dress with a pink outer robe; the leg-revealing silhouette and deliberate angular framing added a lush dimension and tasteful allure to the imagery.

During shooting, the photographer had us test diverse poses, such as the intimate embrace in Photo 2. Conveying our close friendship while displaying the garments clearly on a soft bed proved physically tiring, requiring synchronized breathing, disciplined facial expressions, and precise angles without any minor flaws. The purple striped padded headboard and pink bedding were exceptionally photogenic; paired with black cat plushies and heart-shaped pillows, the overall color saturation was remarkably rich. Post-processing and retouching focused primarily on skin texture and fabric folds, preserving an authentic, youthful aesthetic.

Prior to snapping the first shutter, we calibrated the lighting in the room to bring out the subtle layers in the purple backdrop. Especially for the composition in Photo 1, where both of us sat on the quilt surrounded by plushies of various sizes, we spent a long time arranging them so the toys didn't obscure the costume details. Transitioning to the pose in Photo 2, in order to flatter body contours while staying natural, we had to monitor our sitting postures while maintaining visual connection through eye contact. The pose in Photo 3 holding the teddy bear also tested our synergy, as the slightest lapse in posture could look stiff. Centered on a signature hero theme and collaborating with a close friend, we paid close attention to expression control; my usual solemnity softened into something gentler, fitting that adorable and cozy private room atmosphere.

Although only two people appear in the photos, the shoot on set was genuinely bustling and fun. If we shoot again in the future, I plan to bring more small props and take the 'two becoming four' running joke further, bringing matching accessories or even planning narrative-driven interactions. The results from this Duo photoshoot got many friends around us eager to book their own sessions. More than a simple cosplay session, it was a special celebration commemorating our friendship. This experience has raised the bar for my own cosplay, encouraging me to study makeup, styling, and collaboration even more meticulously. Given the chance, I will explore more of these shared styles with friends.
