This shoot features Red Hood cosplay from Goddess of Victory: Nikke, set in an industrial-style indoor factory warehouse. When I got this wide-angle low-angle finished photo, the overall aura and sense of oppression were even more fitting for her classic line, "Now, I will end this battle," than I had imagined.
Regarding props, this large black and red firearm was the visual centerpiece of the entire look. The spliced barrel and texture faithfully restored the design, though it was genuinely heavy. To maintain stability in a single-knee kneeling pose while striking a cool gun-holding stance, my arms were constantly tense, and I had to control the tilt angle of the weapon so it wouldn't obstruct my face too much. Most interesting was the red ribbon hanging beneath the gun barrel, which fluttered with the wind during shooting, forming a wonderful dynamic echo with the cape.
Costume-wise, Red Hood's red and black spliced gear is packed with details. The top features a red glossy leather jacket with sleeve cuts designed for mobility, while the long red cape behind showed a very pure color under the factory's cool-toned lighting. The black rigid pointed horn headpiece was securely fastened, so there was no worry about wobbling breaking immersion. The lower half styling is especially iconic—showing waistline details with black straps on the right side, and glossy black leggings on the left, complete with crisp white shield-emblem prints on the knee, alongside black-and-red knee guards and black boots for a rich visual composition. The fabric of these pants reflected light nicely under factory lamps without harsh over-glare.
Lighting on shoot day consisted of natural overhead light plus ambient venue fixtures, perfectly matching the metallic roof beams and strip lights of the factory. The low-angle view made the figure appear taller while placing the massive firearm in the foreground created an exaggerated perspective that gave the photo immense tension. Photographer Mia Tsao and the partner from Roll Photography Studio worked with amazing synergy, taking only a few minutes to calibrate camera positions. Since it was an industrial scene with gray concrete flooring, maintaining balance while kneeling on one knee was essential, along with adjusting the cape's hem so it draped naturally without dragging on the dusty ground.
To convey Red Hood's stern and decisive demeanor, I put thought into facial expression. Instead of intentionally smiling or posing cutely toward the camera, I held back my emotions and directed my gaze forward, combining it with a slightly tilted-up face angle to align with her "terminator" persona. The weather was slightly chilly during shooting, but wearing the leather jacket and cape remained relatively breathable on set; larger movements caused a bit of stuffiness, but all physical discomfort was easily overcome for the final visual outcome.
From initially deciding on this character, preparing costume and props, to booking the venue, our goal was always to bring out that battle-ready Red Hood. I feel this official photoshoot not only displays an exquisite look, but also visually presents the character's reliable yet boundary-pushing presence on the battlefield. This outfit was indeed difficult to wear—especially securing various straps and armor pieces—taking a lot of time to put on and take off, but seeing the final result made all the effort feel worthwhile. Every time I do a Cosplayer daily life project for such a fully armed character, that sense of achievement from preparation to shooting and final picture release is truly hard to summarize in words for this Shooting game cosplay.
