This photoshoot features an Arknights Sui family Group photo closely centered on the theme of the "contest on the withered chessboard." The team selected an exceptionally photogenic classical Chinese garden and courtyard, carrying the sentiment of "may we meet year after year," seamlessly integrating our custom-designed Traditional Chinese style elements into the scenery.
In terms of costumes, everyone retained numerous distinct, design-forward details. For example, the red-haired character's teal jacket with red trim, paired with white trousers and an exaggerated red furry tail, delivered strong visual impact; the white-haired character wore a white coat with a red tube top and shorts paired with tall boots, looking remarkably dashing and energetic; the blue-haired character donned a dark long skirt with modern tall boots and a modified white shirt and tie, exuding a cool, sharp, and poised elegance.
The props were another standout highlight. The long swords in hand, teal scabbards, folding fans, and that long-handled lantern with golden structural accents all possessed exquisite texture. Merged with the wooden pavilions, arched gateways, stone steps, and lush lawns, they greatly elevated the dimensional depth and storytelling of each frame. Everyone went all out during this outdoor shoot; for instance, in the shot sitting together on the grass interacting with one another, each person had to find the right angle and center of gravity while coordinating closely to capture that effortless, natural rapport.
Shooting this Group photo was extraordinarily challenging, requiring not only graceful posture from each individual but also harmonious overall composition. In terms of styling, from the shape of the horns and elf ears to the unique facial makeup and markings, we faithfully recreated that 2D fantasy aura from the character designs. Compared to solo cosplay, the difficulty of multi-person Group photos lies in managing light, shadow, and positioning—especially where light and shadows converge under pavilions and corridors, requiring everyone to constantly adjust their positions to catch the best illumination.
Blending the "contest on the withered chessboard" theme with the classical garden felt profoundly fitting. Whether through crisp garment lines or the gentle curves of traditional Chinese architecture, the two collided with striking synergy. After capturing several group portraits, we also interspersed many individual perspectives, striving to give every shot its own memorable identity. Embodying characters within this setting and completing such an intricate ensemble portrait together was truly no easy feat, making it an utterly fulfilling experience.
