[Gladiia cosplay] Arknights: Demonstrating the True Worth of Ægir's Premier Anti-Air Specialist

I've finally sorted out the photos from this Gladiia cosplay session! Reading everyone's comments asking to 'see the true value of Ægir's premier anti-air specialist,' I was actually pondering to myself after the shoot whether I really captured the commanding presence of that deep-sea navigator.

From finalizing the initial plan to the final photo release, the project was delayed for over half a year, going through quite a few twists and turns like outfit accessory adjustments and prop modifications. The details of this costume are intricate: the white wig paired with a dress featuring white ruffles and a black corset creates strong visual contrast and layering. The outer deep blue fabric has a subtle sheen that reflects a profound oceanic vibe under cold studio lighting. The tight lacing on the bodice, hand-strung pearl chains, and golden skull ornaments blend the character's unique tactical feel into a style tailored for Gothic portrait photography. Wide white chiffon sleeves and lace trim along the hem feature fine edge-stitching; although mobility was somewhat restricted while wearing it, it looks stunning in camera, perfectly highlighting the character's inherent elegance and cold detachment.

Special thanks go to my makeup and wig artist 'Huantou Mao,' who handled both makeup and wig styling by herself this time. She excels at bridging 2D and 3D features, trimming the silver-white wig to be light and fluffy while flattering face contours. Paired with iconic red eyeshadow and contact lenses, the contrast between red and cold blue ambient lighting created a striking visual impact, maxing out the aloof sharpness in the gaze. Photography was handled by my long-time partner 'Didu Sheying Guiqi,' who is always spot-on with light and shadow, capturing character mood points and perfectly catching that proud, aloof temperament tinged with deep-sea melancholy.

Now let me talk about this massive black weapon inscribed with 'AN OCEAN OF PAIN.' When I first got my hands on it, I was genuinely shocked—it was much heavier than expected. To hold it steady for an upright, commanding pose, my arms were almost completely flexed. In subsequent shots, such as sitting by stone railings covered in blue silk and white roses or leaning against a chair with a white skeletal frame, I tried my best to regulate my breathing to project a relaxed poise. The black stockings and strappy heels on my legs, peeking out beneath the voluminous semi-sheer tulle skirt, maintained classical elegance while exuding a restrained tension—details I had communicated extensively with the photographer prior to this Cosplay photoshoot.

The studio set design was equally meticulous. Draped white sheer curtains, glossy dark blue velvet on the floor, plus glass bubbles and cute little flying fish decorations hanging overhead filled the frame with a dreamy yet serene atmosphere. During shooting, I intentionally added subtle gestures like playing with a black chained pendant in one hand; this sense of holding a guiding device helped articulate the Abyssal Hunters character lore from Arknights, preventing the photoset from looking overly rigid.

Having done cosplay up to this point, I increasingly feel that 'faithfulness' isn't just about putting on a costume. Body control, makeup adaptation, overcoming prop weight, and even that momentary emotional resonance shining through the eyes during shooting are all indispensable parts. Although my personal expressiveness still has plenty of room for growth and I wouldn't claim 100% flawless recreation, sharing this Gladiia cosplay photoset serves as my answer to this half-year preparation journey. From preparation to final release, I hope this deep-sea-style work tinged with cool melancholy brings everyone a unique feeling.
