[Tashkent cosplay] Azur Lane Northern Parliament Winter Outfit: Watch Out for Heatwaves at Midsummer Anime Conventions

This time, I brought Tashkent's season-exclusive white fluffy cape outfit, paired with sky-blue straps and bows. While the overall look is visually very refreshing, the felt temperature during the actual shoot was a completely different story. Even though the venue had ventilation, without air conditioning running, wearing such a thick plush coat and tall boots caused me to sweat after just a few steps. To recreate the character's fluffy texture, the garment used heavyweight faux rabbit fur with a windproof lining inside, offering excellent warmth retention—though wearing it as summer gear was truly a test of willpower. Before shooting, I specifically checked the wig styling. The light purple long straight hair with blunt bangs easily overexposes under harsh light, so the photographer lowered the intensity of the reflector to preserve the natural layering of the hair strands. The blue fluffy animal ears headband and paw gloves are highlights of this outfit. Especially the giant white paw, where the black palm pads were given a 3D treatment with flocking fabric—it feels very soft to squeeze, but carries some weight when waved around. Thus, when striking playful clawing poses, I had to carefully control my arm strength to avoid looking stiff in photos. The blue bows on the boots were hand-sewn using blind stitching to ensure they wouldn't fall off while walking or posing on one leg. For these convention photos, we tried several different angles: Photos 1 and 2 focus on half-body close-ups, combining eye contact and a slight head tilt to emphasize the character's cool demeanor; Photos 3 and 5 added interactive angles with paws reaching forward for a playful touch; Photo 4 features crouching on a round rug to capture a soft, cute homey vibe; Photo 6 uses a high-angle shot with a star filter, letting the hair spread naturally to create a dreamy sense of space-time; and Photo 7 is my absolute favorite action shot of the shoot—standing on one leg perfectly outlines the white high boots and leg lines, combined with the motion of wide sleeves for a very graceful composition. In fact, the true test of cosplay isn't how extravagant the outfit is, but how to immerse yourself into the character's emotional state within a specific environment. For instance, Tashkent is a Northern Parliament light cruiser with a tsundere personality who loves showing off her new gear, so during the shoot I tried my best to balance "cool" and "cute"—neither being too distant nor overly naive. As for makeup, I used waterproof and sweatproof foundation because sweating happens quickly, while keeping it looking naturally radiant. The eye makeup focused on matching contact lenses; sky-blue lenses made the eyes look clearer, and the lip color was an orange-red tinted stain that enhanced complexion without clashing with the purple hair. Regarding props, besides the paws and headband, the silver metal chain on the chest, fluffy pompoms on the collar, and blue tassels were key details; just keeping those pompoms untangled took a lot of time. Although this outfit is heavy and warm, the photo results are exceptionally striking—under bright light, the edges of the plush fabric form a glowing halo, making one look as if wrapped in a cloud. Of course, taking off the coat after the shoot was a moment of true relief. Many fellow fans at the venue asked about the materials and tailoring process; it actually involved repeatedly verifying patterns and colors, especially that shade of blue, aiming to match the riggings closely rather than an overly fluorescent blue. The shoot took about three hours, during which I rehydrated twice with water and electrolyte drinks, otherwise heatstroke could easily occur. Although the weather was hot, being able to present a beloved character in this state made all the hardship melt away the moment I saw the raw photos. I hope this limited winter outfit brings everyone a refreshingly cool visual experience—after all, visual coolness counts as a temperature drop, right?
