[Cheshire Cosplay] Azur Lane's Sakura Limited Edition: Sweet and Seductive Vibe Maxed Out

This Sakura-themed gown crafted by Claw Box instantly maxed out my sweetness scale the moment I put it on. Right from when I got the sample garment, I was deeply captivated by the exquisite lace patchworks and the well-spaced 3D flowers on the skirt hem. Under the light, the texture of the fabric presents a highly delicate luster rather than a crude pile-up of pink, oozing a premium feel. The wig chosen was her iconic blue-green color. I specially trimmed the bangs and the layers on both sides to make the curls fit the agile and playful nature of Cheshire the kitty. Paired with a clear base makeup and pink-orange toned eye makeup, the overall face look tries its best to echo the sweet-but-not-cloying temperament of this gown.

On the day of the shoot, the scene setup was incredibly meticulous. Aside from large areas of simulated cherry blossom trees creating a frame full of spring vibe, a massive, cool-toned circular moon prop was placed in the back. The intertwining of warm and cool lights gave the frame a strong sense of narrative. Especially for the first dynamically captured scene, we repeatedly adjusted the angle of the wind to blow the tulle skirt hem, finally freezing that ethereal, fairy-like moment. Using a fan (Figure 2) and stairs (Figure 5) as auxiliary props also helped better display the character's figure and the gown's silhouette. The photographer used a medium-to-low camera angle, which not only preserved the gorgeousness of the loose skirt hem but also kept the slender leg lines completely in the frame, making the visual focus fall exactly on the body. Every time I portray a character packed with such rich details for an Anime cosplay, it is inseparable from the perfect coordination of hair, makeup, clothing, lighting, and props. This final set of photos truly achieved the Sakura Vibes I had expected in my heart.
