[Wishadel cosplay] Arknights Itasha Night Shoot: Commemorating My First Custom Design

Getting ready to change cars soon, so I rushed to shoot this set before handing it over to commemorate my first self-designed Wishadel-themed itasha.

This Honda Civic has been with me for a long time. From the initial spark of building an itasha to nudging graphics, designing layouts, and calibrating proportions on the computer, right down to watching it materialize into a real red, black, and white anime wrap—the process was an agonizing yet joyous ride. The side profile features Wishadel's intensely dynamic official art set against black base paint and razor-sharp red lines, delivering immense visual punch. The hood's white base, sharp crimson geometric patterns, and custom typography accurately recreate that gritty, sci-fi aesthetic quintessential to Arknights.

To do justice to this build, I obsessed over the details of the Wishadel cosplay styling as well. The silvery-white wig needed generous volume and textured layering, while the signature red-and-black horns atop my head were cast from sanded and spray-painted resin, ensuring they held up with premium tactile texture under nighttime lighting. Costume-wise, the combination of black-and-white paneled leather fabrics, fingerless tactical gloves, and strapped detached sleeves looked exceptionally cool. On the lower half, I styled a black mini skirt with a white fluttering underskirt alongside black over-the-knee stockings—the cutout and distressed, torn detailing along the thighs was an element I particularly adored. Makeup heavily emphasized crimson contact lenses and blended eyeshadow, paired with deep berry-red lipstick to evoke her fierce, dangerous edge. I even brought along a matching chibi plushie prop, injecting a dash of gap-moe contrast into the hardened persona.

The shooting location was scouted beneath an elevated overpass highway. The massive concrete pillars and rugged industrial vibes harmonized effortlessly with the itasha's hardcore attitude. Shooting late into the night was physically draining, and the ambient temperature was on the chilly side, but the final frames made every minute worthwhile. Special gratitude goes to photographer @Zhu.SAMA, who truly understood how to weave light to unify the driver and the car into one seamless picture. Cool blue environmental tones interlocked with high-powered key lights, striking the vinyl decals and the red-and-black wardrobe to carve out razor-sharp contours.

To showcase both the vehicle's body lines and the costume's nuances, I explored varied stances during the session: leaning against the door frame, half-kneeling on the asphalt, perching along the open door sill, and utilizing low-angle wide shots to stretch leg proportions. In this collection, I am particularly fond of the half-kneeling close-up that highlights the distressed stockings echoing the car's graphic wraps. That tense posture aligned with the car's aggressive angles not only accentuated Wishadel's natural combat readiness, but also captured a distinctive feminine boldness and allure. Resting against the car door, the light glancing off the leather fabric and stockings created a compelling textural dialogue.

This car carried so many of my explorations into the fusion of anime subculture and car culture—from digital renders to physical application, and from casting cosplayers to scouting permits. Now that its mission is nearing its end, this photo set serves as the perfect farewell chapter. The next project car is already on its way; while I haven't settled on the next livery concept—perhaps experimenting with a totally different design aesthetic or tackling a new character build—I'm wrapping up today's share here.
