I had been conceiving this dark aesthetic ensemble for a long time, primarily wanting to combine the playfulness of a Little devil style with a touch of gothic, cold allure. For the top, I chose a white off-the-shoulder shirt featuring ruffled flounces along the collar layered over a sheer black inner top, creating rich textural depth. The sleeves are crafted with elaborate ruffled pleating and trimmed entirely with black lace, casting gorgeous shadows across my arms with every slight motion. The corseted waistline is my personal favorite: accented with crisscross lace-up ribbons and silver rhinestone buckles, it sculpts a flattering hourglass shape. Paired with a black pleated miniskirt, the delicate lace trim along the hemline naturally flutters as I walk, looking lively and fluid. To complement the overarching Jirai-kei fashion aesthetic, I wore a pair of Black over-the-knee stockings. The sliver of bare skin revealed between the stockings and the miniskirt visually elongates the leg lines beautifully. On my feet, I wore chunky black platform shoes adorned with ribbon ties and metal buckles, which not only maximized physical height but further amplified that slightly rebellious Subculture girl vibe.
During the shoot, I intentionally incorporated poses that showcased leg silhouettes—such as stepping one foot onto the crossbar of a bar stool or crossing my legs naturally while seated—highlighting both the sleek fit of the Black over-the-knee stockings and adding visual dynamism to the frame. The black devil-wing hair accessory atop my head was the crowning touch, directly echoing today's witchy motif. Holding a silver beverage can alongside a black quilted leather backpack introduced a casual, everyday relaxed feel. The diamond quilting and ribbon bow design on the backpack matched the garment's fine details seamlessly. Against the pure white studio backdrop, the black-and-white contrast was striking. To match the playful demeanor of a Cute ghost, I avoided overly dramatic expressions, choosing instead to subtly tuck my chin, gaze straight into the lens, or cast a slightly mischievous glance to convey emotion. Shifting between seated and standing stances influenced the overall vibe—resting languidly against the chair back felt relaxed and nonchalant, while stepping onto the stool radiated confident edge.
For lighting, uniform and luminous frontal lighting was used, crisping up the structure of the white shirt, the delicate lace, and the seamless fit of the Black over-the-knee stockings. The makeup featured reddish-pink eyeshadow tones, adding a hint of tipsy, menhera-esque fragility that harmonized with the dark aesthetic. We explored diverse camera angles, from high-angle overhead shots to low-angle worm's-eye views, fully displaying the tailoring and intricate details of this outfit. All in all, fusing my favorite lace accents, dark vibes, and platform shoes made this a thoroughly enjoyable creative journey in Jirai-kei fashion.
