[Shimoe Koharu cosplay] Blue Archive: Lewd Things Are... Absolutely Forbidden!

"Lewd things are... strictly prohibited!"

This photoshoot at Chongqing Dreamland Comic Con was one of the projects I prepared for the longest time. When designing this look, I really wanted to blend the Jirai-kei fashion aesthetic with the character's signature tsundere contrast. The glowing pink circular halo overhead served as the central visual focus of the entire styling; despite the complex convention lighting, its actual illumination appeared crystal clear and radiant, which, paired with the black-and-grey feather ornaments on both sides and the pink straight-bangs wig, projected a light, airy, and undeniably cute texture.

For the costume, I coordinated a light purple long-sleeved collared shirt with delicate lace trim along the neckline, with the black bow tie acting as the finishing touch that balances collegiate neatness with a touch of playful charm. The dark jacquard skirt on the bottom showed off gorgeous woven texture during movement and posing. For footwear and legwear, I chose white lace-trimmed socks alongside black chunky platform loafers, which significantly elongated the overall silhouette and body proportions. One detail that absolutely could not be missed was the thigh garter, which beautifully accentuated the character's lively silhouette. When putting the outfit together, I repeatedly adjusted the tightness of the bow tie to achieve that slightly willful, effortlessly casual attitude.

The props prepared for this shoot were truly the main attraction. The long-pole prohibition sign and the pink plushie served as slice-of-life elements, providing wonderful visual accents in the photos. The most physically demanding prop was definitely the long sniper rifle prop; because of its considerable length and weight, maneuvering it through the convention halls while dodging passing visitors and finding clean floor spaces to rest props took serious stamina. Fortunately, the seated poses combining the firearm with the character achieved a beautifully balanced composition.

Reflecting on the shooting experience: when capturing Convention photos live at the expo, backgrounds inevitably contain passersby and scattered light sources. The photographer utilized a wide aperture to blur the background, making the subject stand out crisply. Throughout the shoot, I cycled through kneeling, standing, single-leg balancing, and sitting on the floor. The floor-sitting series in particular required deliberately angling the legs toward the lens to showcase the fine details of the socks, thigh garter, and chunky shoes, all while holding either the bunny plushie or the prohibition sign. As someone who frequently coordinates custom cosplay looks, I know bringing anime garments and props into real-world spaces with high-end texture demands immense energy in movement control and staging. Luckily, the venue was spacious and free from major disruptions, allowing us to focus entirely on poses and emotional expression.

The final results are the photos presented here: the glowing halo looks remarkably translucent under highlights, and my skin tone appears pristine under the soft lighting. This custom Jirai-kei fashion take on Shimoe Koharu cosplay preserves the character's intrinsic traits while incorporating personal styling touches. I hope these live moments captured at the con let everyone feel the delightful charm of this Blue Archive character.
