Shooting the daily life of Blue Archive's Takanashi Hoshino, it's highly necessary to maintain a properly relaxed "salted fish" (slacker) state. This time, we managed to borrow a real-life classroom, where the desks, chairs, lockers, and blackboard in the environment felt so close to the atmosphere of Abydos. Besides organizing the character gear, we also recorded the details of the lighting setup and light arrangement on-site. In the photos, you can see the studio lighting equipment standing outside the black-framed glass windows, as well as the Nanlite fixtures connected at the front. This time, the overall style aims to simulate natural light, utilizing the round panel lights and stick lights near the window as side fill and rim lighting. The lighting ratio was controlled very comfortably, making the frame both translucent and three-dimensional. When the light filters through the window frame, it naturally complements the white uniform, blue tie, and pink hair.

Although filming the lighting process is a bit hardcore, it truly helps to understand the source of that "translucent look." Besides the styling, the direction and tone of the light often determine whether a photo is mediocre or brilliant. Instructor Baihe Tsuru provided many suggestions on-site regarding character states and light-and-shadow aesthetics. Sitting at the desk with a halo, making various hand gestures, I could feel Hoshino's lazy yet reliable temperament. Even just a slight gesture toward the camera, paired with this lighting setup, can create a subtle sense of atmosphere. Sharing the Behind the scenes along with the final photos serves as both a record and a review of the performance state for this piece of Anime-style photography and Cosplay photography.
