Before shooting began, I knew today's finalized look for Abydos had to be captured under hard lighting. The moment the lighting artist hit the switches, long shadows stretched across the floor, instantly evoking the scorching, desolate ambiance of the blazing desert sun. The white prop rifle in my hands was heavier than expected, and holding it for extended periods definitely made my arm ache; yet, to faithfully convey the quiet confidence of an Abydos Foreclosure Task Force senior, I maintained a one-handed low-ready rifle stance with an easygoing, drowsy gaze rather than looking tense.
Speaking of the wig, I prepared two long wigs to recreate this look. To achieve a naturally flowing aesthetic with the long pink hair, I spent a solid hour and a half combing and setting the bangs before heading on set. The semi-translucent glowing halo prop atop my head was the centerpiece of the styling: striving for a floating, high-tech effect, we crafted it with acrylic housing embedded micro-LEDs, requiring careful angle adjustments during shooting to prevent visual seams. Fortunately, the gentle rim glow in the final photos looked wonderfully weightless.
In terms of wardrobe, this shoot adopted a classic crossover between school uniform aesthetics and tactical gear. While the white long-sleeve collared shirt looks crisp, the fabric was moderately structured; tying the blue necktie with a loose knot perfectly preserved her signature languid charm. On the lower half was a dark grey pleated plaid miniskirt of moderate length, subtly revealing a section of white mid-calf socks. On my feet were blue-and-white low-top canvas sneakers—which took quite some hunting to match the exact shade—bringing an authentic student 2D daily life feel that instantly plunged me into that 'perpetually sleepy senior' vibe.
To match the Abydos atmosphere, we specifically selected a dark-toned studio, using a powerful overhead-left spotlight to create the visual impact of harsh sunlight beating down against a wasteland wall. Sharp shadows fell across the concrete-textured floor, and the composition deliberately left generous negative space around the body to highlight the silhouette of the rifle and the luminous halo.
The shooting process was full of fun. Because I needed to convey that sense of 'being utterly sleepy yet ready to fight at any second,' I often yawned several times to relax my facial muscles before instantly snapping into a focused, serious combat expression with the rifle. The photographer skillfully guided my emotional transitions throughout. Since the 'ABYDOS' emblem in the background was composited in post-production, the solid black studio backdrop gave us immense creative freedom, and once the emblem was integrated, the visual tension hit its peak.
Because this gear features numerous details—especially the harness strapping and weapon grip stances—we meticulously cross-referenced official character illustrations and animation frames beforehand to ensure accurate placement for every accessory. Though a full day of shooting was tiring, seeing the filmic texture of the fabric folds and layered lighting in the final shots made every effort worthwhile. This is today's photoshoot record of an Abydos Foreclosure Task Force member; I hope these photos share the unique peace and quiet resolve of this beloved character with everyone.
