For the lower half, I chose crew socks with colorful stripes and pink-and-white platform canvas shoes—a Striped socks outfit that balances character styling with the practical needs of walking around all day without getting overly exhausted. The 3D decorative accents on the pink backpack served as a wonderful embellishment during shooting, especially in the full-body one-legged stance where the backpack's shape and clothing contours formed a well-balanced silhouette.
I'm particularly fond of the single-leg standing pose in the second photo; striking it required some balance, but fortunately the platform shoes provided solid support. Combined with the venue's clean floor lines and blurred passersby in the background, it magnified the subject's prominence. While the first shot was a bit exaggerated, the cards scattered on the ground were actually dropped accidentally at a convention booth or during swag trading; capturing it candidly felt all the more organic. The third shot sitting on the floor looking back was captured in a more relaxed state, where holding my head with both hands showed a cute, quirky, yet lively side of the character amid the high-intensity pacing of Anime convention daily life.
Speaking of the wig and accessories, the star and ribbon hairpieces were secured quite firmly this time, staying in place throughout the whole day—big props to the prop maker! The wig features a light blue-purple gradient reaching right down to the waist, with a silky straight texture that doesn't look frizzy. To fit the character's persona, the hairstyle retained fluffy layering as much as possible, ensuring that whether looking down or tilting up, the flow of the hair kept a natural curve without feeling stiff.
The lighting at the venue was a huge bonus. Thanks to the expansive glass admitting daylight throughout the hall, the indoor diffuse reflection was extremely even, rendering skin tones and outfit colors accurately regardless of the orientation. During the shoot, there was no need to add excessive facial fill light; the shadows under natural light appeared gentle, pairing seamlessly with this school-girl styling. While foot traffic at the anime convention was quite heavy, controlling the lens focal length provided moderate background blur, clearly separating the subject from the bustling surroundings.
In terms of styling, the skirt drapes well; gently adjusting the hem when sitting allowed the pleats around the knees to maintain visual continuity. The colorful striped socks paired with platform canvas shoes in this Striped socks outfit not only elongated the leg lines in the single-leg standing shot, but the thick soles also leveled out subtle floor irregularities, allowing me to stand more stably. While seated on the ground, the stripes on the socks visually echoed the skirt's slit details, enhancing overall visual coherence.
The pink backpack is quite an amusing prop, with its dimensional star-shaped decorations on the back offering high recognizability. During single-leg standing or bending poses, the backpack occupied part of the frame without stealing the subject's spotlight, while filling out the overall silhouette so it didn't look overly flat. Furthermore, the backpack's partitioned interior conveniently held my phone and small items on-site, making it genuinely practical.
When cosplaying at conventions, choosing the right footwear is truly crucial considering you have to walk around the venue all day. Although these pink platform canvas shoes have thick soles, they are sufficiently cushioned and flexible, avoiding foot fatigue. The crew socks also had great elasticity without sliding down, allowing me to focus entirely on poses rather than constantly worrying about sagging socks. While high heels or rigid leather shoes in cosplay can often be cumbersome, picking the right footwear this time made the shoot much more efficient.
This photo set didn't rely on overly complex post-processing filters, preserving the raw color rendition. The cool-grey trusses and flooring in the background contrasted nicely with the blue, pink, and white palette of the outfit, making the character pop. Personally, I feel this clean, casual approach makes it easier to bring out the character's refreshing essence for school-themed characters from Blue Archive.
