This set of photos took nearly a week of tossing around from set design to shooting, and it's finally ready to be released. The thematic direction this time is a blue and white dreamy cool-toned fantasy feel, so the scene deliberately utilized large areas of light blue thin gauze and pure white carved folding screens. The ground was covered with artificial blue and white flowers, paired with Roman columns and pearl string curtains, which instantly brought out the overall atmosphere.
The costume is a customized white midriff-baring dress, inlaid with a diamond-shaped gemstone on the chest, and the strapping design wrapped around the arms adds a sense of layering while making it convenient to perform various dynamic movements. The headpiece utilized large blue flowers and ribbons, creating a highly focused visual center of gravity. To coordinate with the overall cool-toned styling, light blue colored contacts were specially selected for the makeup, and the saturation of the eyeshadow was kept low to emphasize a clear, translucent visage.
The most exhausting part during the shoot was controlling the light; we needed the white gauze to emit a soft glow without making the white clothing look flat and dead-white. The lighting design used a large amount of side-backlight to outline the silhouette, with a softbox on the front for fill light, resulting in a finished look that is both translucent and three-dimensional. In post-processing, no heavy overlapping images or special effects were added; it mainly involved fine-tuning the color balance, slightly reducing the purity of the blue, and blending in a tiny bit of gray tone to make the frame look more premium, beautifully embodying a cool and aloof style.
Although pressing down on the flowers on the ground was unavoidable while posing during the shoot, and the skirt hem also gathered quite a bit of dust, it was all completely worth it the moment I saw the finished photos. Wearing this type of lightweight and relatively high-exposure cosplay attire actually has quite high requirements for physical posture. I even did some stretching exercises during shooting breaks, and fortunately, I'm quite satisfied with the final lines and sense of relaxation. Trying out this cold blue wind style this time can be counted as a small breakthrough. In the future, I also want to try combinations of different materials and color tones, such as adding a metallic texture or utilizing stronger light and dark contrast. Looking forward to the next creation through my journey in Cosplay photography.
