This time, I took on a Xiao Qiao Cosplay based on Lady Sirenxin's Ancient-style headcanon design from From Madness to Courage. To capture the exquisite quality of this headcanon look, styling and makeup required considerable time. The foundation base was applied with luminous clarity, emphasizing soft facial curves and enlarged facial features to achieve an anime-like Doll makeup aesthetic. The wig was the most challenging component: beyond creating natural, fluffy waves, balancing the side buns with airy see-through bangs across the forehead was essential to project that sweet, gentle disposition. To add visual depth, I wore purple tassel hair ornaments and pearl earrings paired with bright purple ribbons, using the contrasting shades of the Purple color scheme to give the styling a more three-dimensional look. The costume features a light-purple ancient-style silhouette adorned with delicate lace trim and ruffled frills, with blue floral embroidery on the collar and fine lace at the cuffs providing excellent texture.
During the shoot, striving for that ethereal feeling of a first encounter, we fine-tuned the lighting with a soft facial key light to diminish harsh shadows and give my gaze a crystalline translucence. In terms of posture, complementing the drape of the wig, I tried gestures like resting my chin on my hands or lightly touching my lips to enhance storytelling, conveying doll-like vulnerability alongside classical elegance. Because this was an Ancient-style headcanon version, the portrayal focused heavily on embodying the dreamy, ethereal aesthetic of Lady Sirenxin's artwork rather than simply reproducing in-game splash art. In From Madness to Courage lore, Xiao Qiao is characterized by cleverness and lively spirit, whereas this creator's headcanon infuses her with more gentleness and immortal grace—a contrast that was delightful to interpret. The palette of soft purple and creamy white aligns wonderfully with cool summer vibes. Throughout the session, maintaining facial expressions and wig curvature required numerous angle adjustments, keeping hand gestures natural and unforced to present Xiao Qiao's dignified, tender image to fellow fans. This shoot truly tested control over fine details—from combing the wig to smoothing out dress layers—and thanks to my friend's help, everything wrapped up smoothly. I hope this set conveys the delicate essence of classical elegance.
