[Xiao Qiao Cosplay] The Adorable Xiao Qiao from Honor of Kings: Basking in the Scenery

I dedicated a lot of effort to this Chinese-style girl look for Xiao Qiao today. For the Pink wig, I chose a muted pastel pink with subtle grayish undertones, adding soft volume with a curling iron before braiding buns on both sides adorned with floral hair accessories to harmonize with the classical garden ambiance. The makeup focused on enlarging the eyes using natural false eyelashes, paired with delicate under-eye shading to capture Xiao Qiao's signature tender, endearing gaze alongside an anime-inspired aesthetic, keeping the eyeshadow soft to maintain a fresh, clean finish. A luminous peach lip gloss was applied so it wouldn't compete with the pink-and-green color scheme of the attire.

The costume consists of a modernized Chinese short-sleeved top in soft pink with light green piping and delicate prints, crafted from satin-like fabric that gleams gently under sunlight. The front is accented with traditional frog buttons, complemented by a beaded necklace and butterfly tassel pendant, while a green sash cinches the waist to balance the upper and lower tones with fluid drape during movement. White bandages were wrapped around the forearms—an essential battle-ready motif of the character that I made sure to retain to add depth and layering to the outfit, even within a park setting.

We chose a garden location with weeping willows and a pond, where the reddish-brown tones of the wooden railings paired beautifully with the pink and green palette. For the seated poses, the photographer instructed me to anchor my weight toward the lower back while relaxing my shoulders, keeping hand gestures fluid—one hand resting lightly against the railing and the fingertips of the other curving forward to accentuate arm lines. Because of the skirt's generous cut, I had to mind the drape and folds while seated, allowing the side light to softly sculpt my facial contours. For the second selfie shot, I captured a casual moment using my phone with a pink case; although the high angle flatters facial proportions, it naturally narrows the environmental framing.

Controlling light direction during outdoor shoots is crucial, especially since light-colored wigs and fabrics wash out quickly if overexposed. Using reflector boards alongside natural lighting kept our hit rate solid. While Xiao Qiao appears undeniably cute, her battle lore also carries inner strength. Adjusting subtle gestures and expressions—such as lowering the chin while lifting the eyes, or delicate hand poses—helps bring that multifaceted personality to the surface. Overall, the wig styling and costume coordination matched my original vision, making this a deeply rewarding cosplay experience.
