This shoot primarily revolved around Xiao Qiao's signature pink design. To bring out the outfit's dimensional silhouette, the dress was crafted from a vibrant jacquard-textured pink fabric edged with silver trim. The brown straps at the neckline and chest serve as the visual anchor of the ensemble, maintaining the halter, off-the-shoulder design while enhancing structural depth. The sleeves are worn separately; their puffed shape, detailed with silver piping, holds its silhouette impeccably with every hand movement. To match the overall color palette, bright pink platform heels accented with pom-poms were paired with white over-the-knee Stockings, complemented by a pink thigh ring that ties into the dress and adds dynamic contrast during motion. For hair, the pink double-bun wig required extensive styling to keep the bangs and side wisps fluffy without obscuring the eyes, while pink contact lenses were essential to capture the character's lively, animated gaze.
The shooting location was an indoor venue featuring expansive glass curtain walls, where cool natural daylight contrasted crisply against the warm hues of the costume, with a reflective floor amplifying overall clarity. In terms of posing, the folding fan was a key prop. Opening and raising the fan demanded precise control over arm lines and shoulder balance; especially during single-leg lifts or leaning forward, engaging my core was essential to maintain balance while letting the dress drape in an optimal arc. The shower of flower petals was achieved through a blend of practical set staging and post-production composite, designed to create a romantic breeze-blown atmosphere.
Beyond visual accuracy, capturing the character's mood was the true test. Xiao Qiao's persona carries an innocent, radiant charm while retaining inner strength. During the shoot, my gaze had to sync with each motion—such as aligning eye focus with fingertips when reaching out, or exuding confidence when snapping the fan open. 'Flowers may wither, but love never fades' is not just lore, but the core emotion this shoot aimed to express. While petals fall, the frozen frame and the vivid vitality she represents remain eternal. Wearing this outfit for hours was physically taxing—particularly balancing on platform shoes and constantly re-adjusting the elaborate wig. From refining wardrobe nuances to coordinating with camera angles, the whole team worked tirelessly for the best visual impact. Seeing the final edits embody Xiao Qiao's spirit made every challenge worthwhile. I hope these photos allow everyone to feel her sweetness and vigor, along with the creative magic of cosplay.
