Traveling out of town for the first time, the sense of unfamiliarity made me instinctively squat in a corner, just like a quiet little mushroom. This time, I prepared the Maid Momo cosplay outfit from Blue Archive. Slipping into this outfit somehow made crouching in the corner feel completely justified.
The silhouette of this costume is truly flattering: a dark blue long-sleeved dress paired with a white ruffled pinafore apron, creating wonderful visual depth. The prominent light-blue bow across the chest serves as the visual centerpiece, brightening up the overall color palette. White striped trims accent the cuffs, and dark stitching details trace the skirt hem, showcasing delicate craftsmanship. I also specially paired it with a golden-blonde twin-tail wig and a black-and-pink cat-ear maid headband, instantly bringing out the lively, playful charm of Saiba Momoi cosplay.
To highlight the character's pure and adorable aura, I chose white pantyhose—commonly referred to as White tights cosplay. Pairing white tights with this A-line skirt hem visually flatters the leg contours, making them look balanced and well-proportioned. Staying tucked away in the corner, I used the hotel room's wooden door and mirror as my backdrop; light reflecting off the tiled floor created a uniquely quiet and serene atmosphere.
During shooting, I experimented with several different angles. Photos 1 and 4 are barefoot shots, with pointed insteps to elongate leg lines, giving off a relaxed, casual at-home vibe. Photo 5 features black dress shoes in a Mary Jane style, fitting the maid aesthetic even better. Photo 2 is a close-up wave, with a hand partially framing the cheek for interactive charm. The entire set of photos was captured via handheld mirror selfies using my phone.
When in an unfamiliar place, I habitually tuck myself away. Momo herself has a shy side, so crouching in a corner like a mushroom actually resonated nicely with the character's mindset. I absolutely adore the texture and presentation of this costume in the mirror; the dark base dress and white apron form a striking contrast. Putting on this outfit was both self-entertainment and a very special experience. For styling, I have a small tip: when wearing this long dress and tights, pay close attention to your posture when crouching down, otherwise it can easily look bulky in the mirror—a nice bit of experience gained for myself.
