Putting on this swimsuit look of Kuromi Serika actually took a short while of preparation. What took the most thought was the pink halo prop on top of my head and the wearing angle of the black cat ears. I repeatedly adjusted them before taking photos to ensure they wouldn't look too unnatural in front of the lens or block the wig's hairline. The wig was chosen in a quite saturated deep sea blue, with two cyan ribbons tied on the sides, forming a cool-toned contrast with the pink of the halo, which looks quite matching visually.
For the makeup, I emphasized the reddish eyeshadow and deep red colored contacts to restore Serika's characteristic tsundere and tense gaze, perfectly showcasing the classic "blue hair, red eyes" charm. Since the outfit features an off-the-shoulder design, the contours of the shoulders and collarbones are very prominent, so I slightly adjusted my posture before shooting to make the lines in front of the lens sharper.
The photos were taken by myself with a phone during breaks in the indoor shooting, so the environment is quite casual. Without complex lighting setup, just relying on the natural light by the window actually made the wig's luster look very real, without any distortion from overexposure. Most of the time, an official photoshoot requires strict expression management, but these behind-the-scenes photos can capture more relaxed states, which serves as a complementary interpretation of the character's temperament. The wig's bangs were trimmed just right without blocking the view, retaining the character's signature traits. The overall wearing experience was fairly comfortable, except that the halo easily tilts if there is too much movement, which is a reinforcement point I need to pay special attention to for future outdoor shoots. I hope these fragmented shots can let everyone feel the ingenuity of this swimsuit design as a slice of my 2D daily life before the formal Cosplay photography results are out.
