I absolutely adored the overarching atmosphere of this Onodera Haru cafe cosplay session. To faithfully recreate that youthful, slice-of-life charm from Nisekoi Season 2, we poured substantial thought into the styling and wardrobe. The wig was styled into brown twintails, accented with a blue scrunchie and tiny orange hairpins to enhance the breezy, everyday vibe. The iconic ahoge strand atop the head was carefully sculpted with hairspray, adding pure soul to every shot. For makeup, the eye makeup utilized reddish-brown eyeshadow blended gently beneath the lower lids to channel that subtly bashful, endearing pout. The foundation remained sheer and dewy, as a heavy base tends to appear cakey under warm cafe practical lights, finished with a fresh water-red lip gloss to liven up my complexion.
For the wardrobe, an oversized pale yellow knit cardigan was layered over a crisp white collared shirt featuring a light-blue sailor collar, tied with her signature bright green necktie. The lower half paired a light-blue pleated mini skirt with pure white knee-high Stockings and dark brown patent leather loafers. The pairing of white Stockings and a pleated skirt is an eternal classic; I specifically had the photographer capture several seated stances on the barstools to elongate the leg lines and highlight the tactile knit of the stockings along with the zettai ryouiki. The coffee shop's interior set dressing was incredible—wooden bar counters, barstools, background chalkboards, and rustic wooden crates offered picturesque framing at every angle. In Photo 1, perched on the barstool with one foot resting on the crossbar and hands laid naturally over my lap, the relaxed gaze captured Haru's bashful yet composed personality. In Photo 2, standing before the counter with hands resting gently at my sides, looking straight into the lens, I sought to project her diligent, sweet presence while working at the shop.
While location shoots often present uncontrollable lighting conditions, the cozy amber indoor ambient lights worked to our advantage, infusing rich warmth and narrative depth into the frame. Because this was a public venue, we maintained quiet composure throughout to avoid disturbing other patrons—a fundamental courtesy in location cosplay photography. Regarding wig maintenance, high twintails easily frizz up; prior to shooting, I used wig conditioning spray and a flat iron along the grain to achieve a smooth, organic drape, while curling irons shaped the bangs to curve softly around the cheeks. Since pleated skirts are prone to wardrobe malfunctions, vigilance over safety shorts and posture alignment was constant. The resulting 2D daily life photos turned out wonderful, and I hope everyone enjoys this cozy, everyday aesthetic.
