[Kasumizawa Miyu Cosplay] Blue Archive: Eating watermelon by the Summer Pool to Beat the Heat

From finalizing the styling to finishing the shoot, this Kasumizawa Miyu Cosplay Swimsuit cosplay session took about an entire afternoon. Because we were shooting outdoors by the pool, strong reflections from the water surface made light control our biggest challenge. We had to ensure proper exposure for facial expressions without sacrificing the clear, crisp blue of the pool water in the background. As a result, shooting was essentially a constant battle against the intense sunlight; fortunately, holding that slice of watermelon as a prop constantly gave a refreshing psychological boost as if Eating watermelon during breaks.

To faithfully recreate the character's demeanor, the makeup emphasized red colored contacts and slightly flushed eye rims, striving to give the gaze a slightly dazed yet innocent quality. The white rabbit-ear headband and long braided twin tails were central to recreating the look, paired with a white bikini featuring light blue piping and lemon patterns, along with woven straw-hat or bow accents on the chest and back. These accessories required frequent adjustments while moving around to maintain their natural draping curve.

We experimented with various frontal and profile angles during the shoot. Frontal compositions highlighted the headwear and the prop watermelon in hand, creating a strong sense of focus, while profile standing poses accentuated body curves and leg proportions. Considering the barefoot look by the poolside, standing poses were carefully calibrated to avoid angles that might make the legs appear bulky. To achieve that 2D proportion, basic post-processing liquefy adjustments were applied along the leg lines according to lighting shifts, keeping the contours smooth and natural.

This outfit uses minimal fabric, but the vivid red watermelon and the blue pool background created a striking visual contrast, with the blue water ripple textures rendering the images exceptionally refreshing. By the end of the shoot, despite the fatigue, seeing such high-fidelity photos made all the hard work feel completely worthwhile. Overall, it was a deeply fulfilling summer-themed photoshoot experience.
