This comic convention finally brought to life the Kitagawa Marin Succubus styling I've been longing for. This outfit has truly so many details; the black sheer lantern sleeves paired with a large white ruffled collar not only add layering but also enrich the visual effect of the upper body. Layered inside with a black bandeau and form-fitting leather shorts, plus the black devil horns, pointed elf ears, and that slender little tail with a heart-shaped tip, the overall little devil vibe is maxed out directly. To perfectly recreate the character's image, the wig was specially chosen in a high-saturation red, hand-trimmed the blunt bangs myself, and styled the temple curves with styling spray to make it fit the face shape better. To match the succubus setting, I purposely chose bright green circle lenses, intensified the red eye-shadow blending at the outer corners of the eyes in the eye makeup, and brushed slightly reddish blush on the cheekbones, making the face look more three-dimensional and vivid before the lens.
The people at the comic convention site were truly super numerous, the venue was extremely lively, and all kinds of divine cosplayers could be encountered everywhere. Although this outfit is gorgeous, because it exposes the waist and abdomen and requires wearing leather shorts, moving around still requires a bit of caution, especially in crowded places. When shooting outside the venue at night, because the background was relatively dark, it instead made the main subject stand out more prominently, and the distant convention lighting and street lamps formed pleasant circular bokeh spots, adding a lot of atmospheric vibe to the photos. In terms of pose design, I especially love the fourth posture of raising one leg with a fist clenched; paired with the clothing's tailoring, it showcases the overall body proportions while looking playful yet slightly sexy. The kneeling on the pink plush rug making a V-sign photo is also very satisfying; the front fill light hitting the face felt very soft, and the leather shorts material had a great glossy look under the lighting, perfectly recreating the character's temperament.
Meeting many professional photographers on-site, everyone briefly communicated the desired visual feel before shooting, and the photographers guided poses very smoothly, making the entire shooting process extremely efficient. This Kitagawa Marin Succubus outfit combines the character's liveliness and slight allure just right; whether standing with hands on hips, making hand hearts, or standing in a naturally relaxed posture, it all wonderfully showcases the features of this outfit. Looking at each raw photo in the camera, I feel that all the hard work in early preparations for costumes and makeup was completely worthwhile. A comic convention is not only a gathering for fellow enthusiasts to communicate, but also a great opportunity to test cosplay fidelity and expressiveness; receiving so many high-quality event photos this time is truly a very fulfilling and happy experience, and it also gives me more ideas for subsequent cosplay creations, looking forward to bringing better works next time.
