Archiving this full outdoor set from Sihui Subway Station, a highly efficient shoot while the light was still good. Today's look portrays Marin Kitagawa's everyday styling. Without over-elaborating on the character's predefined traits, purely from the perspective of the actual shoot experience, the interwoven blue-and-white plaid pleated skirt combined with that crisp, pure blue tie and a loose white shirt forms a very classic and easy-to-create Campus style outfit combination. The blonde-and-pink gradient wig on my head needed to keep its crown voluminous at all times, as the outdoor breeze easily made the strands fly around. However, this genuine messiness actually fits the lively character setting much better than a meticulously managed look.

The dappled light and shadow falling on the steel-framed staircase was a major highlight. We utilized the metal railing structure of the pedestrian overpass, allowing the sunlight to slice into sharp, distinct striped shadows. This high-contrast lighting condition serves as a natural filter, creating very three-dimensional outline silhouettes on the white shirt. Squatting on the rusty steps, my hand resting by my leg echoed the deep blue canvas tote bag. The black design with white stripes also harmonized beautifully in color with the black socks and brown platform shoes. For the right hand reaching out toward the lens during the shoot, I intentionally spread my fingers with a bit more force, which gives viewers an interactive desire to bridge the distance. This pose possesses excellent visual tension on social media, while ensuring the character occupies the golden position in the frame without having attention stolen by the background's steel frames.

The black choker and fine chain with a pendant on my neck look very exquisite against my skin tone, perfectly balancing out the slight skin exposure from the widely unbuttoned shirt collar. The most brilliant part of this costume actually lies in this sense of everyday life—it isn't aggressive like magnificent stage outfits, but instead yields the illusion of a girl-next-door encountered by chance during an afternoon stroll. We barely used any reflectors while shooting this set, relying entirely on the sun in the sky. It illuminated the surrounding metal and concrete ground, and the diffuse reflection of the ambient light made my skin tone look naturally translucent, even keeping the lip color looking beautiful. To make the composition look richer, I specifically chose a seated pose with slightly bent knees and legs tilting to the side rather than simply sitting straight forward. This beautifully showcases the proportion of the thigh-high socks and thighs, maintaining a Sunny vibe and cuteness while adding a sense of casual spontaneity.

This set didn't chase complex, dreamlike settings, nor did it rely on artificially manufactured illusory light and shadow; it completely placed the 2D look onto the streets of a modern city. The industrial style, the rusty iron frames, and the straight staircases formed a kind of contrasting charm with the gentle and sweet character look. Communication during the shoot was highly smooth, and the photographer captured many genuinely natural states, like looking down to arrange the skirt hem or accidentally glancing to the side—those spontaneous moments are often far more vivid than staged poses. We kept trying to find the everyday feel that best fit the character, since for this work, Marin herself is a girl full of vitality and realism. The clear sky and the plaza helped immensely this time; I often head outdoors to find suitable streetscapes when the sun is good. While indoor studio shoots are safe and controllable, they simply cannot compare to this vibrant scene where sunlight spills onto the hair strands and tie through architectural gaps. Putting light spots captured by chance in real life into the final showcase is the most charming part of photography, and I feel very lucky to fully preserve this sunny outdoor photography log.
