[Moriya Suwako cosplay] Touhou Project Themed Outdoor Shoot Log by a Dark River

For this shoot, I chose to photograph Moriya Suwako from Touhou Project along a dark river. Because the ambient lighting was quite dim, I deliberately used Polaroid as the medium to record it; the optical lens rendering naturally carries a vintage and shadowy texture that harmonizes beautifully with the atmosphere of this scene. This costume has an immense amount of detail—the white ruffled dress and black skirt hem create rich, distinct layers. To match the overall aesthetic, I wore White stockings and black lace-up high heels, while the feathers and yellow floral accents on the headpiece stood out strikingly against the dark background. On the day of the shoot, the forest was extremely humid with plenty of mosquitoes, so maintaining composure took considerable effort. Following the photographer's guidance, I tried several angles including sitting on rocks, standing in profile, and distant full shots. The close-up sitting pose showcased the leg lines and garment details nicely, while the distant shots leveraged the lush vegetation and deep green tones to bring out the character's solitary mood. The Polaroid flash hitting my face also cleanly accentuated the sheen of the headdress. The entire shooting process was a real test of patience, as the limited light required us to constantly adjust angles and wait for natural lighting. This set preserved the raw, authentic texture characteristic of film cameras without excessive post-processing, making it a very professional attempt. From makeup and wig styling to the natural drape of the skirt fabrics in the humid environment, every detail was dedicated to faithfully recreating the character's temperament.
