[Wakamo (Swimsuit) cosplay] Blue Archive: Swimsuit Look Log Before Wakamo CN Server Release

Today, I'm sharing the shoot and styling process for the Blue Archive Wakamo (Swimsuit) look ahead of the Wakamo CN server release. In terms of costume design, the blue-and-white color palette perfectly matches the crisp, refreshing feel of a summer swimsuit. The top features a halter-neck strap design with a sheer, lightweight white outer cover-up whose fabric folds create rich visual depth under outdoor sunlight. To ensure structural stability, the inner bodice was properly molded, while the blue waist ties and draped fabric below preserved the character's signature silhouette while allowing flexible posing outdoors. The headpiece is the centerpiece of this ensemble, featuring dramatic crafted flowers in varying shades of blue, purple, and white, accented with delicate bead strings and feathers to complement the fox-ear design. The animal ears use a sturdy headband base to stay securely in place during outdoor movements. For the wig, I selected a deep navy-tinted black with subtle highlights at the tips; it stayed smooth and natural under daylight.

For props, the white mask held in my left hand with pink and blue markings was meticulously referenced against the original character art. To avoid harsh reflections, it was finished with a subtle matte coat instead of heavy gloss. The mask's ties also echo the blue beaded bracelet on my wrist. The photo deliberately features the red prohibition sign and a chibi figure holding a placard, directly playing on the caption: 'Will Sensei save diamonds for Swimsuit Wakamo?' In Blue Archive, Wakamo carries a tsundere edge and disciplinary solemnity; though radiant in swimwear, she still maintains a guarded wariness against Sensei's pursuit. The red prohibition mark serves not just as a playful post-processing meme, but as an emotional expression embodying that 'wanting to get close yet resisting' dynamic.

The shoot took place in an outdoor garden with blurred greenery and building facades in the background. Sunlight streaming from the left cast a warm glow, softening the cool-toned blue-and-white outfit and making it look more translucent. Anticipating the image's meme appeal, the composition left ample negative space for visual guidance, while brighter lighting at the bottom corners gave the poses extra dynamism.

As a cosplayer, the biggest challenge with this summer swimsuit shoot was staying fresh outdoors without sweating off makeup. The eye makeup featured extended eyeliner to capture her slightly aloof gaze, while sheer peach blush softened the cool-toned outfit. Personally, this styling balanced character fidelity with flexibility, clearly highlighting waist and leg lines. The large black fox tail required adjusting its harness to avoid warping the waist ties. In post-processing, blending the edges of the red sign mask naturally with the body enhanced the anime aesthetic.

As for saving diamonds, many 'Sensei' likely have their own resource plans. Wakamo's swimsuit version is definitely a banner worth watching upon its CN server release. If you plan to pull for her, it's wise to budget resources ahead and weigh upcoming events.
