For this summer swimsuit project covering both outdoor and studio ideas, we decided to tackle Kisaki's summer styling from Blue Archive. When brainstorming concepts with the photographer, we chose to forego cluttered scenic backdrops, using a clean, pure white studio to accentuate the wardrobe details and the character's innate aloof poise. The resulting light and shadow transitions yielded wonderful transparency.
The styling of this Kisaki swimsuit was exceptionally well-calculated. The foundation was a black halter bikini that accentuated waist contours and the neckline, layered underneath an oversized greyish-blue botanical print robe. Wearing it draped casually off the shoulders preserved the character's dignified elegance while introducing an effortless summer languor. The sunglasses resting on the chest and the silver crescent moon hair accessory served as crowning touches, while the semi-translucent grey-blue oiled paper parasol held in hand was specially chosen—its subtle jacquard patterns looked remarkably intricate against the stark white backdrop. As for the blue butterfly resting on my fingertips, it was actually anchored with fine wire; capturing its delicate, weightless perch required several angle recalibrations to prevent the wire from showing while keeping my arm lines graceful and relaxed.
Styling the wig also demanded thoughtful effort. The blue-grey long straight hair needed natural volume without appearing heavy, with bangs trimmed in soft layers to frame the face. The right braided strand draping across my front introduced pleasing textural contrast. To ensure makeup longevity throughout the shoot, the base was kept lightweight and dewy, placing the core focus on defining eye contours so my gaze mirrored her quiet, slightly distant temperament.
The full-body seated pose in Photo 1 severely tested core stability. While crossing legs appears relaxed, it actually demanded sustained tension through the toes and leg muscles with a rigidly straight back to support the voluminous coat and display fluid body curves. Photo 2 moved in for a close-up, relying primarily on parasol gestures and a lingering gaze toward the butterfly to craft the mood. While studio lighting is consistent, sculpting the drape of the robe and natural skin textures required extensive lamp adjustments. The color palette favored cool slate grey and soft blue-violet without abrasive chromatic contrasts, yet it radiated profound atmospheric presence. The synthesis between the swimsuit and the character's original demeanor delivered a thoroughly satisfying result.
