[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Wonderful holiday Convention photos

The Convention photos from Xi'an Dreamland Comic Convention are finally here! This time, I cosplayed Cyrene from Honkai: Star Rail under the theme of 'Wonderful holiday.' I was quite pleased with the overall execution of this look, fine-tuning everything on-site from the wig to costume details. The wig transitions in a smooth gradient from pink to pale white, accented by slender micro-braids on both sides, while the white hair ornament on top paired with little blue hairclips added delightful dimension to the head silhouette. For makeup, to complement the pink hair, I chose blue contact lenses, accented the eye makeup with fine glitter, and applied airy, delicate false lashes for a clean, translucent texture, layering blush a bit more generously to maintain a radiant complexion even in the hall's dimmer corners.

The wardrobe is packed with highlights. The base layer is a pink athletic tube top layered under a cropped white camisole, where red lettering prints serve as an eye-catching focal point. The outermost holographic laser jacket is the true soul of the outfit; under photographer lighting, it refracts a spectrum of shifting colors. However, because of its reflective material, we had to continually shift angles to prevent direct flash from washing it out into a flat, blown-out glare. The dark gray pleated skirt is styled with a blue-and-white printed bandana scarf and metallic chains, which clink softly against the fabric with every step. On my feet, white slouch socks and chunky platform sneakers featured pink laces that neatly echoed my hair color.

During shooting, to harmonize with the 'Wonderful holiday' motif, we planned several interactive gestures. Hugging a pink-and-white plush bunny doll and holding a pink lollipop made body language feel much more effortless and organic. One pose lifting a single leg was specifically designed to flare the pleats of the skirt more flatteringly while elongating leg lines. Photographer Ying Xia was incredible at freezing dynamic motion amidst the hall's messy ambient lighting, utilizing a wide aperture to blur out the background and isolate the subject from the visual clutter, while placing fill light masterfully to sculpt dimensional facial contours.

Foot traffic across the convention floor was heavy, and because the semi-sheer sleevelets snag easily on nearby equipment or backpacks, navigating every transition required extra caution. Luckily, my overall condition stayed in top form, and the final shots turned out beautifully. The makeup and styling achieved a cohesive pink, white, and blue palette that stayed faithful to the character's nuances while fitting the vibrant, bright aesthetic of the convention floor. If anyone wants to achieve similar results at conventions, paying close attention beforehand to wig sleekness and the way laser holographic fabrics interact with lighting is definitely key.
