These Convention photos from the CP31 Hangzhou Anime Convention feature Lynette from Genshin Impact. This white Angel Garden dress was actually quite intricate to put on, but the on-site presentation turned out really well.
Preparing this costume took a lot of time. The white dress has multiple layers, and the sheer outer tulle drapes beautifully, requiring constant adjustments to the fluffiness of the skirt to create an airy, weightless look. The mint-green ribbons and bows served as wonderful accents; paired with light-colored long Stockings and strappy shoes, the overall body proportions looked much better. The wig is platinum blonde, and styling it required paying close attention to the curvature of the bangs. To fit the character better, I added some soft blending to the eye makeup and adjusted my pupil color.
The shoot took place right on the floor of the Hangzhou Anime Convention. Above the stage was a massive circular red LED light strip and the Bilibili logo, with lots of purple neon ambient lights in the background. The floor reflections were very strong and the ambient lighting was quite complex, but fortunately the photographer adjusted the intensity of the key light so the subject could stand out distinctly from the busy background. To complement the overall composition, I maintained a stable center of gravity with one leg extended forward, which highlighted the leg lines while allowing the skirt hem to drape naturally. The mascot beside me struck an exaggerated forward-leaning pose; this contrast between motion and stillness gave the composition much more visual tension.
As for the shooting process, the convention was packed with people, so we had to avoid cluttered crowds in the background to find a relatively clean angle. The light falling across the sheer tulle looked fantastic, and the photographer guided my poses and angles on-site to clearly capture the details of the legs and costume—which is that authentic texture people look for in Convention photos. In terms of lighting, it preserved the atmospheric ambiance of the neon lights while keeping my face bright and clear, maintaining an overall clean and crisp aesthetic.
This photo set records a precious moment on the convention floor, and I'm very grateful to the partner who collaborated with me. Genshin Impact has so many characters, each with its own unique design language. This Angel Garden fan-made outfit for Lynette preserves the character's traits while incorporating flowing elegance, making the entire look feel dreamy. The most joyful part of attending an anime convention is wearing an outfit you love and capturing beautiful photos in an ideal setting. That was my photoshoot experience at this CP31 Hangzhou Anime Convention.
