[Feixiao Cosplay] This Giant Axe from Honkai: Star Rail Almost Made Me Retire on the Spot

Today, the weight of this weapon truly gave me a reality check. Carrying it around the venue all morning, my muscles were constantly strained to hold the pose, and my arms were trembling after taking photos. The scale of this massive axe is quite substantial. To balance fidelity with lightweight construction, the prop master must have used the lightest materials possible, but with such a huge bulk in hand and a forward center of gravity, just holding it up to press the shutter was a physical workout.

To accurately recreate Feixiao's off-shoulder blue outfit look, I made many fitted adjustments underneath. Those metal buckles, the central chest knot, and the dangling tassels needed constant adjusting while walking to ensure they wouldn't tangle with the weapon. The wig was trimmed into fluffy, dynamic layers, paired with a set of white-and-green gradient fluffy animal ears. After putting them on, I had to keep adjusting the angle so they wouldn't droop. For makeup, to match the character's sharp gaze, I elongated the eyeliner, combining it with clear foundation and red lips for a crisp, confident feel.

The crowd size at the venue today was alright, but it got quite humid and stuffy inside. Wearing this structured yet poorly ventilated fabric, combined with the heavy prop load, standing for an entire morning was indeed tough to handle. Toward the latter half, I clearly felt my calf muscles tightening and aching, showing early signs of cramps. Considering I have another character scheduled for tomorrow—which requires not only restyling the outfit and wig, but also maintaining good physical condition to avoid looking exhausted on camera—I weighed my options and painfully decided to leave early.

This selfie is one I'm quite satisfied with from today. I tried my best to fit both the weapon and myself in the frame. The blue-green decorations on the axe blade echoed the outfit's colors well, and the hollowed-out texture details were captured nicely. Honestly, many friends doing 2D Cosplay with heavy weapons probably share the same feeling: to pursue visual impact, props are often heavy enough to make you question your life choices, but the resulting convention photos make all the hardship worth it. Of course, one must know their limits—after all, doing Feixiao cosplay and animal ears cosplay is meant to be fun. Completing both days comfortably is the ultimate goal, so I'm resting early today and stretching to recover energy for tomorrow's battle!
