This Astesia outfit easily had the most complex layering of anything I've worn recently. From the foundational white gown to the outer sheer gradient tulle in baby blue, and the black sheer organza draped over the shoulders, dressing up took quite a while. To embody the character's celestial and mysterious essence, I paired deep Blue-white hair styling with an elaborate headpiece adorned with golden starbursts and thorn motifs. The delicate white lace and dangling tassels on the crown tangled easily during movement, requiring frequent adjustment on set.
Our shooting location was set inside an antique Church style building with stained glass windows; natural light filtering through the colored panes was breathtaking. However, the ambient interior was actually quite dim, so to complement the glowing blue geometric crystal props, we set up multiple studio lamps to sculpt a rich contrast between warm and cool tones. The massive golden staff was solid and weighty—holding it up for prolonged takes made my arms ache. To capture that sacred, tranquil grace, I tried several poses: raising the staff while standing, reclining amidst floral beds, and cradling a golden bird prop. Though physically draining, reviewing the monitors made every bit of effort worthwhile.
The gown's voluminous hemline was dusted with fine, glittering sequins that whispered softly with each step. Paired with white Stockings and buckled white low-heeled shoes, navigating the stone stairs required immense care. Embodying Astesia's demeanor meant careful control over micro-expressions: neither beaming too brightly nor appearing rigid, but maintaining a poised, gentle detachment. In medium close-ups especially, the slightest deviation in chin angle or eye focus completely altered the scene's emotional weight.
The floral arrangements of blue and white roses and hydrangeas enriched the color depth tremendously. At first, interacting naturally with the massive glowing blue crystals felt tricky, but pacing my breathing helped me immerse into the role, imagining myself truly within that starlit, magical sanctuary. With a relaxed mindset, movements flowed effortlessly—whether leaning gently into flower clusters or crossing legs casually upon the steps.
The resulting series synthesizes fantasy, classicism, and a subtle gothic touch. From wardrobe coordination to prop crafting and scenic lighting, every step was steeped in detail. Heartfelt thanks go to the photographer and logistics crew for managing lights, fixing my gown, and documenting behind-the-scenes in the warm room. It was an immensely rewarding creative experience experimenting with fresh framing and light play.
