Shooting this maiden knight coordinate of Arknights' Amiya by the sea was truly a dual test of physical stamina and creativity. To deliver the best visual impact, a lot of meticulous care went into preparing the costume and props beforehand. The outfit combines lolita dress detailing with mecha armor and features numerous layers; the front ruffles and the flowing cape on the back required constant tidying to preserve their layered depth under intense sunlight. The massive black gauntlet on the arm was a major highlight—crafted from rigid materials, fitting and securing it took considerable time, and the interior lining had to be specially reinforced with anti-slip grip so it wouldn't slide during poses. The animal ears and mini top hat were angled against the coastal breeze to remain upright and adorable on camera, while the wig received anti-frizz styling, letting the subtle highlights in the bangs stand out crisply in the sun.

The crystal-like blade of the two-handed sword caught natural light with stunning translucency, but balancing such a long weapon on sandy beaches and breakwaters proved tricky. The sun beat down fiercely on the shoot day, and while gusts of ocean wind lifted the cape for breathtaking dramatic effect, keeping the hair and skirt from fluttering wildly was a constant battle. To capture that sharp, resolute knightly intensity while retaining Amiya's quintessential gentle resolve, we referenced official splash art and combat animations. Key poses like raising the sword one-handed or glancing back over the shoulder demanded strong core stability to hold the heavy gauntlet and blade steady, all while keeping a calm, focused gaze without squinting in the harsh wind.

In high-contrast beach lighting, tilting the chin slightly upward harnessed the ocean's reflective surface as natural fill light. We leveraged the clean diagonal lines of the breakwater to pull deep perspective into the frame. Low-angle shots proved best for magnifying her commanding presence, perfectly balanced by the sweeping volume of the full skirt. Accents like the blue thigh strap on the right leg and the black high boots injected a battle-hardened edge with every step or subtle leg raise. Because the skirt has ample volume, snapshots taken mid-breeze felt remarkably organic. We also captured defensive stances with the sword held horizontally across the chest, seizing that poised, coiled tension right before battle. The metallic sheen of the pauldrons and the waist gems required ongoing angle adjustments to avoid blown-out specular highlights, which truly tested the photographer's precision. Although exhausting, seeing how the props' textures and the garment folds came alive in the sunlight made every bit of effort worth it. Donna brought incredible presence and camera chemistry, allowing us to wrap up this action pose reference shoot efficiently within our limited time window.
