Let's organize the shooting details and styling insights of this Hsin styling. From preliminary preparation to the official shoot, this styling truly took a lot of thought. Let's talk about the wig and animal ears first. Hsin's silvery-white hair features black highlights with a very rich layered feel. To make this raw wig, I used quite a bit of hair gel to fix the direction of the hair strands. The pair of fluffy animal ears on top of the head, paired with golden star-shaped hair ornaments and a ruby, look very spirited once worn. However, these ears have a certain weight, and during the shoot, one must constantly pay attention to maintaining the balance of force on the neck so that the head posture remains natural.
The details of the clothing part test patience greatly. The black sequin corset has a circle of white plush decoration along the edges, and the huge red-and-blue gemstone pendant on the chest is extremely eye-catching in front of the lens. The red detachable sleeves also have their subtleties; the edges feature a black background with white stripes design, and the cuffs have a circle of white fur. The red-background with gold-thread color scheme elevates the texture of the clothes significantly. To echo the character's traits, the red flame totem on the back of my hand was painted stroke by stroke using body paint pigments, with very high color saturation, requiring a very steady hand while drawing. Before this shoot, I also painted red totem body paint on my chest to make the overall details richer. The white skirt hem at the bottom features golden embroidered patterns, paired with golden thin cord decorations tied around the thighs, making the overall coordination look very layered.
In terms of makeup, I intensified the eye makeup, using a reddish-brown eyeshadow for blending, elongating the eyeliner, plus red accents under the eyes, aiming to present a mysterious and alluring feeling. The base makeup was kept relatively light and thin, which, combined with the on-site lighting, makes the skin look more textured.
During the shoot, I chose a sitting posture with crossed legs. This posture can not only showcase the leg lines, but also reveal curves through a slight tilt of the body. The right index finger lightly touches the lips, making a "shh" gesture, paired with a gaze looking straight into the lens, aiming to convey a playful yet slightly arrogant and proud atmosphere. Because the tailoring of the costume is relatively slim-fit and the neckline design flatters the figure very well, I communicated with the photographer for a long time during the shoot to find the angle that best showcases the body lines. The lighting setup was also just right, illuminating the skin while giving the black sequin clothes a reflective effect.
The background was decorated with red-and-white flower clusters and ornaments with a bit of a classical charm, using a wide aperture to blur and create a warm atmosphere. In terms of actions, I tried adjusting the drape of the sleeves and the placement of the arms to ensure the overall harmony of the frame. To present a high-quality cosplay work, from ironing the costume and styling the wig to capturing every gaze, I tried my best to demand myself to do the best. Although the shooting process this time was somewhat tiring, seeing the resulting images made me feel that all the preliminary preparation was entirely worth it.
