For this shoot, I decisively abandoned those monotonous, basic bright or pale blues and insisted on selecting this Kumamoto blue Sailor suit. The Kumamoto blue hue carries a natural grayish undertone and depth—its saturation isn't high, but its visual presence is substantial. Under the intense beach sunlight, it avoids washing out into a harsh white like ordinary sky blue; instead, it grounds the stark highlights of the sand and water surface, lending the composition a composed, refined texture. The ocean is never just one single blue: in the distance lies deep indigo, the midground turns an emerald tone tinged with green, and near the shore the water remains crystalline. If the garment's color is too light, the subject easily appears washed out against the seascape. Kumamoto blue strikes the perfect balance within this richly layered blue environment.

Without mindful movement, photographing a Sailor suit can easily look stiff like an ID photo. I intentionally designed several dynamic Beach photoshoot poses. Lifting the hem of the pleated skirt while wading through water allows the pleats to fan out naturally while keeping the hem dry. In the shots glancing back while holding my shoes, the sea breeze lifted the skirt edge, creating strong tension between the leg lines and the contrast of black shoes and white socks. Leaping lightly across the sand or spreading my arms creates rich layers in the skirt's curving arc—all fantastic dynamics serving as Drawing reference and pose guides. Artists can specifically observe the stress points of the garment and the drape of the fabric under strong wind.

Regarding the lighting, I deliberately chose an afternoon with a strong coastal breeze. Direct sunlight beautifully restored the subtle gray nuances of Kumamoto blue. Many prefer soft light for uniform portraits, but on a sandy beach, strong light-and-dark contrast actually accentuates the three-dimensional tailoring of the outfit. The white necktie and the white stripes along the cuffs become clear visual focal points under bright light; paired with the cinched waist and A-line silhouette of the pleated skirt, stretching out the posture makes the frame appear very elongated. The double buns hairstyle was also chosen to soften the formality of the uniform, injecting a touch of playful vitality.

Since this aims for an authentic School-supplied uniform aesthetic, restraint is essential. The core essence of the School-supplied uniform girl style lies in clean, crisp simplicity without unnecessary affectation. This Sailor suit was paired without exaggerated makeup or complex props; the only backpack carried a few plush charms to add everyday realism. In the photos with the grassy backdrop, the warning signs and wooden railings actually heightened the documentary feel. There was no need for forced sweet smiles at the camera—looking down slightly at the water or quietly gazing into the distance allowed the tranquil purity of student days to flow out naturally.

I refrained from applying heavy filters across the entire set, striving to preserve the sea's authentic color shifts and the warmth of the sunlight. This shoot was not only an exploration of color, but also a journey of cultivating aesthetic perception. A Sailor suit is more than just clothing; it carries the evocative atmosphere of youth. I hope this series lets everyone feel the unique charm born from the collision of Kumamoto blue and the open sea, sensing the genuine breeze and light whether viewed as styling inspiration or Drawing reference.
