[Chisa cosplay] Wuthering Waves: The Schoolgirl Wielding a Giant Blade

Slipping into this deep navy Sailor suit and taking hold of that red-and-black giant blade truly made me feel like I had stepped into the world of Chisa from Wuthering Waves. This look features an abundance of details: the top is a cropped navy Sailor suit, where the white sailor collar and bright red scarf create an eye-catching visual focal point, complemented by a black choker and sleek, straight black wig with red highlights. The makeup focused heavily on cool glamour and a sharp, piercing gaze. The outer jacket is an oversized greyish-blue piece with cutout sleeves, resembling lightweight, dynamic armor that suits street-style Outdoor cosplay perfectly.
To emphasize the character's unique blend of fierce edge and cool allure, the lower half of the outfit was essential. Solid black knee-high Stockings paired with classic brown loafers beautifully contoured the leg lines, blending seamlessly with the navy pleated skirt to preserve schoolgirl youthfulness while adding a distant, cool mystique. The skirt features a corset belt and long black fabric straps, creating rich visual depth in motion.
Before the shoot, my biggest concern was the massive red-and-black blade prop. To evoke that effortless sense of violent beauty, I had to repeatedly find the right balance and center of gravity in my grip. Especially on the pedestrian bridge stairs, where the white and grey metal grating provided a crisp, clean background, angling the colossal blade correctly made it the pivotal visual anchor that broke any stiffness.
I also carefully considered the posing. Keeping the visual effect of the Stockings in mind, I kept my legs together or slightly crossed when sitting on the steps to elongate the lines; when standing, balancing on one leg or lightly leaning against the railing allowed the texture of the black Stockings to flatter the leg contours naturally. The photographer captured fantastic perspectives, switching between wide-angle and telephoto lenses to seize moments of the jacket billowing in the wind, dramatic over-the-shoulder turns, and provocative glances toward the lens. To add natural flair, I tried lightly touching my lips or reaching forward for perspective framing—classic poses that created an intriguing visual contrast against the massive greatsword.
We scheduled the shoot for late afternoon, when natural sunlight filtered through the bridge's glass curtain wall, casting crisp highlights across the red surface of the blade and the black Stockings. Combined with the pristine, airy street scene, this genuine ambient lighting lent the photos an authentic straight-out-of-camera texture that feels far less artificial than studio sets. Facing the camera, I strove to weave Chisa's cold yet subtly playful schoolgirl essence into every hand lift and turn, requiring constant micro-adjustments to facial expressions. The unique beauty of Outdoor cosplay lies in this visual contrast between rigid urban architecture and delicate girlhood styling—a hallmark of this shoot.
Overall, the creative synergy during this Outdoor cosplay session was fantastic. The cool tones of the city architecture flattered the red-and-blue color palette, while the black Stockings and loafers seamlessly blended into the urban atmosphere. Though holding such a hefty prop was physically demanding, the resulting coolness and power conveyed across the frame made the character portrayal feel remarkably authentic. I'm excited to compile this satisfying photo set as a testament to all the hard work put into it.
