I've finally finished organizing this set of Saigyouji Yuyuko photos. The shoot took place primarily in an indoor studio, where extensive care was poured into the set design to harmonize with the character's persona. For the backdrop, a Japanese folding screen adorned with large floral motifs was paired with tatami mats and paper lanterns, cultivating an authentic washitsu ambiance. On the low table, scrolls, a slender white vase, and tea sets were arranged—while subtle, these props served as wonderful accents that enriched the depth and lived-in authenticity of every frame.

For the costume, I chose a white-and-blue Lolita-style dress. The collar and cuffs boast abundant lace and ruffled flounces, while a black bow tied at the waist serves to anchor the visual center with elegant contrast. The mob cap bonnet was one of the crowning pieces of this styling: beyond generous gathered lace ruffles, the unique red crest on the front was meticulously recreated, with internal structural support added to maintain its three-dimensional volume on camera.

In terms of hair and makeup, pinkish-purple contact lenses were worn to highlight an otherworldly aura. The eye makeup deepened the shadows with plenty of pink blush swept underneath the lower lids; paired with the softly curled pink short wig, it strived to project a gently dreamy, innocently ethereal gaze.

Throughout the shoot, prop interaction contributed immensely to the overall mood. The Japanese folding fan, patterned with white line-art over a purple base, made frequent appearances—whether fanned out as a foreground frame or held close to flatter facial contours when looking into the lens, its architectural and floral prints displayed exquisite texture under the lights. Another set of shots holding the paper umbrella utilized the blue floral motifs along the canopy rim to echo the dress. Posing with the umbrella required a relaxed posture: letting the wrist support it gently while resting the shaft softly against the shoulder kept the stance looking effortless and poised.

For posing, because the skirt was rather heavy and voluminous, seated postures were predominantly used. The pose in Photo 6 was designed to show off the layered spread of the cascading skirt, while naturally revealing the White stockings and black Mary Jane shoes. Gently folding hands together or holding the closed fan effectively prevented stiffness in the hands.

Regarding the lighting, a pleasantly diffused setup was used, with the key light cast from the frontal side to retain subtle facial shadows while giving the skin a luminous, translucent glow. Post-processing color grading leaned toward a high-key pink-and-white tone, softening the contrast and cloaking the entire visual in a dreamy filter. From preliminary preparation to on-set execution, every single detail was guided by Touhou Project's lore, hoping to faithfully capture Saigyouji Yuyuko's graceful yet ethereal, drifting essence.
