The core of today's styling is a sailor-collar one-piece School swimsuit paired with pure white pantyhose White stockings. To achieve the ideal result, we specially set up a seamless pure white backdrop in the studio and brought in a standard set of school desks and chairs to build a campus ambiance for this Classroom photo. The School swimsuit itself is dark blue, with the white sailor collar and red necktie creating a striking color contrast, while the yellow armband on the left sleeve visually enriches the overall styling. Many might think a School swimsuit is demanding on body shape, but as long as you choose the right size and pair it well with innerwear, its snug fit highlights bodily contours wonderfully. The one-piece chosen this time features cutout details on the sides—an excellent nuance that makes the waistline appear slimmer from certain angles. The pure white pantyhose features a subtly sheer, matte texture; this kind of material easily reflects and absorbs light during studio shoots, and choosing poorly can make legs look thick. So during test shots, we compared several thicknesses of White stockings and ultimately selected this pair, which fits snugly without pinching the skin. Additionally, the tailoring of the sailor collar is crucial—if the collar is too floppy, it loses its shape when leaning forward or lying down, detracting from the overall aesthetics.

To accentuate the texture of the White stockings, the lighting technician put plenty of effort into the setup. We used a high-key photography technique: a softbox on the key light and fill light illuminating the background to keep the overall frame bright and clean while preserving the delicate sheen of the White stockings and avoiding blown-out dead whites. Detail work on the feet was a priority: whether draping legs over the edge of the desk or kneeling on the chair, pointing the toes was essential to visually extend leg length—a tiring yet highly effective detail. The difficulty of high-key photography lies in controlling facial shadows; if too bright, the face looks flat, but if too dark, it ruins the overall translucent tone. Throughout the shoot, we continuously adjusted the distance of the overhead softbox diffusion cloth, striving to keep facial depth while bringing overall exposure to an immaculate level.

In designing poses, I don't really like rigid standing postures, so I crafted various interactions with the desk-and-chair setup. For example, sitting on the chair with legs crossed and resting on the desk's edge while resting hands naturally displays the lines of the waist and legs nicely; or leaning over the desk and looking back over the shoulder to express gaze and back curves; or kneeling on the chair leaning forward, appropriately showing off the collarbones and front necktie details while allowing ample display space for the legs behind. The entire process required constant adjustments to my center of gravity and shoulders to find the most relaxed state before the camera. When posing leaned over, my core remained engaged the entire time to make the curve from back to waist flow smoothly, while dropping my shoulders away from the ears to visually elongate the neck. Kneeling puts quite a bit of pressure on the knees, so frequent stretching during breaks was necessary to avoid red marks ruining the shot.

A sailor-collar School swimsuit is a quintessential classic in Anime-style photography. Although the outfit is simple, capturing vitality and narrative within static photos truly tests the model's body expression. Before each shutter press, I briefly considered whether the pose formed a stable triangle or leading lines. Sometimes, subtle finger adjustments were made repeatedly to ensure the hem or clothing edges fell naturally in frame. While posing was tiring, the visual impact against the pure white background was truly gratifying, and the overall shoot quality met all expectations, making it a very enjoyable studio cosplay experience.
