[Shimako Todo cosplay] Restoring the elegant upperclassman in Maria-sama ga Miteru - Image 3

This is the Shimako Todo cosplay I prepared before. Putting on this black sailor dress from Maria-sama ga Miteru instantly brings out a sense of dignity that lets you immerse yourself in the character. The basic pattern of the costume is very classic, featuring a dark long-sleeved dress with a white bow tie and white-trimmed cuffs. The overall tailoring is quite structured, and the skirt hem is pleated, presenting a lovely drape when walking or lifting it up.

First, let's talk about the wig and makeup. Shimako's signature hairstyle is light brown slightly curly long hair with blunt bangs, giving an overall soft and non-aggressive feel. To restore this feeling, I chose a flaxen-brown color for the wig, with natural fluffiness at the top, and the curls at the ends were styled strand by strand with a curling iron, avoiding that rigid factory-made look. The focus of the makeup is on the eyes and lips, avoiding heavy colors; earth-toned eyeshadow was used to deepen the contours, and the eyeliner was drawn out just a little bit straight, retaining that cold yet slightly melancholic gaze from the anime reference. The lip makeup adopts a matte bean paste color, which basically matches the character's complexion.

For accessories, a white bow is matched at the neckline, and silver cross rosary necklaces and bracelets are added to the chest and wrists. Although they are small accessories, they instantly tie the theme together, maximizing the restraint and piety under that church-school background. The shoes chosen are black Mary Jane leather shoes paired with white short socks, and the contrast between the white socks and black shoes makes the lower body's visual center of gravity very stable.

During the shoot, three states were captured. The first is sitting indoors resting the chin on the hand, with elbows propped on the table and gaze looking to the side. The difficulty of this pose is not to completely deform the face by pressing down, but to gently support the flesh of the cheeks to maintain the three-dimensional look of the facial bone structure, while the gaze carries a bit of a dazed look, expressing the character's state of thinking or daydreaming. The second is folding hands in prayer, closing the eyes, with a slight smile at the corners of the mouth; this scene was mainly shot in front of a solid color background, relying on lighting and body posture to show a serene atmosphere. The third is a full-body pose lifting the skirt hem, pinching both sides of the skirt with both hands to lift it up slightly outward, making the movement generous without looking cramped, standing with toes slightly turned outward, which makes the whole person look very upright.

This set of pictures also uses the original anime image and real-life photo spliced together for comparison, creating this 2D and 3D contrast layout. The full-body photo of lifting the skirt hem is one I really like; although limited by the venue to only a pure white background, the pleated texture of the costume and the styling details of the white socks and black shoes are fully presented. I hope everyone looking at these pictures can feel this quiet temperament.
