[Toyama Kasumi cosplay] Ten-Minute Break Rehearsal Time

Sharing this completed Toyama Kasumi cosplay photoshoot from BanG Dream! today. To satisfy a prior pose reference request, I brainstormed extensively with photographer @Updraft-kun, ultimately deciding to construct a minimalist classroom setting inside a pure white studio. For props, we arranged standard school desks and chairs, a navy school tote, and the indispensable black gig bag—all essential building blocks grounding her everyday high-school life.

Starting with the wardrobe, this sailor suit boasts an iconic design: the top is a pastel blue short-sleeved blouse paired with a white sailor collar edged in navy piping, anchored at the chest by a deep navy necktie for a wonderfully crisp, refreshing look. The lower half features a white pleated skirt bordered by two navy stripes along the hem, echoing the top harmoniously. To introduce visual contrast, I styled knee-high Black stockings with black lace-up leather shoes, which elongated the leg profile while honoring authentic school uniform conventions. For the wig, I selected a reddish-brown shoulder-length cut with subtle inward curves at the ends, fluffing the crown for airy buoyancy and clipping a red hairpin onto the left side as a cheerful accent.

To reflect her signature high-octane energy, I wore purplish-red contact lenses, sweeping warm pinkish-coral eyeshadow and blush broadly across my cheeks to mimic that healthy, flushed glow after running or wrapping up band club practice. A vibrant, dewy red lipstick topped it off, infusing my facial expressions with lively warmth.

Throughout the session, we mapped out poses to serve the action reference theme. In the first shot, I leaned sideways against the desk edge, propping one hand on the desktop while hooking my left ankle behind the opposite knee. This pose heavily tested core balance; to keep the skirt pleats pristine and the leg contour fluid, I adjusted my center of gravity multiple times before glancing back over my shoulder into the lens, which the photographer froze at its most organic second. The second shot shows me standing straight, casually slinging the guitar case over one shoulder with fingertips resting on my chin, tilting my head slightly with a playful, contemplative gaze—looking just like a band member heading off to club practice.

Shooting inside a studio while maneuvering a hefty guitar case required careful poise: keeping the shoulders relaxed while ensuring the bag's strap draped naturally without stiffness. The desk and chair placements were calibrated repeatedly to balance compositional lines. Working with the photographer was an absolute pleasure with effortless creative synergy. This shoot marked a wonderful artistic step for me, deepening my appreciation for Kasumi through costume craftsmanship and kinetic body language. I hope everyone enjoys this set!
