Bringing Wuthering Waves' Yangyang to life from preliminary prep to the final cuts was an experience packed with challenges and joy. To capture her aloof yet gentle, languid disposition, immense care was poured into the wardrobe and set props.

Beginning with garment details: the palette centers on black, navy, and cyan. To achieve that fluid draping grace, textiles with natural weight were chosen. Waist trinkets inlaid with crimson and turquoise gems required repeated adjustments to sit at the ideal angle. The silver metallic bracers on my forearms carried genuine tactile luster, but their physical heft required conscious arm relaxation to prevent stiff posture. Paired with knee-high black boots adorned with silver filigree, the silhouette sculpted and elongated leg lines, complementing the bare-leg cut to inject a striking visual anchor into an otherwise ethereal look.

Hair and makeup were equally critical. The wig took extensive trimming—the blunt front bangs had to remain airy and buoyant rather than stiff. Raven strands blended with teal-cyan streaks that refracted subtle gradients under the strobes. For makeup, blue contact lenses and deepened eyeliner accentuated two-dimensional facial contours, finished with rich lip color to sculpt facial dimension.

Though evoking an outdoor garden, the set was staged entirely indoors. To construct this oriental fantasy mood, we arranged weathered rockeries and silvery foliage for organic depth. Calligraphy-inscribed white umbrellas and cascading cyan drapes suspended behind formed the visual highlight, harmonizing with a blooming pink blossom branch and crane figurines to evoke a tranquil, enigmatic sanctuary. Tabletop styling was meticulously curated: a low wooden tea table laid with geometric woven mats, celadon teaware, and an ancient scroll. The inscribed paper slip in my hand served as an intentional prop to enrich the narrative.

Lighting balanced a cool key light to establish an enigmatic mood with warm fill lights sculpting facial contours, preserving environmental chill without muddling skin tones. In the first shot, I sat beside the low table resting my cheek on one hand, gazing directly into the lens to convey an effortless, relaxed demeanor. Another reclining pose holding a wine flagon expressed complete composure. The photographer composed frames with ample environmental context, lending rich completeness to the scene.

The entire shoot was deeply rewarding. From costume coordination to studio set building, every step aimed to honor canonical character nuances, striving to bring a living presence to static imagery. It remains an invaluable milestone in my Anime cosplay and Role-playing game journey.
