[Takanashi Hoshino cosplay] Cute Impact of Daily Style in Blue Archive

For this Firefly ACG Expo, my main goal was to recreate this daily outfit look for Takanashi Hoshino.

Let's first talk about the details of this styling. The short pink hair had its bangs freshly trimmed yesterday, with small braids styled on both sides, which beautifully preserves the rounded silhouette once the cat ears are put on. That glowing dual-ring halo on top of my head was the trickiest accessory for this shoot; being a light-up device with a rigid base, securing it took quite a bit of effort. It was also somewhat heavy when moving around, making me feel like it wobbled whenever I walked fast, but to faithfully recreate Hoshino's signature feature in Blue Archive, enduring this bit of weight was well worth it.

For clothing, I chose a loose-fitting white long-sleeved hoodie featuring a pink cat paw print on the chest. The fabric has a soft, skin-friendly cotton texture that feels very comfortable to wear. For bottoms, I wore only pure white tights. To match this languid vibe, I intentionally pulled the hoodie hem loose and slouchy, giving off a relaxed loungewear feel. The bell collar around my neck added a touch of playfulness and guardedness visually—this reflects my understanding of the character: although she acts very casual on the outside and frequently makes "oji-san" remarks, deep down she still cares about maintaining her aura.

Shooting at night against a greenery backdrop meant ambient light wasn't ideal, but the warm string lights behind created lovely rim lighting. The photographer used a flash for frontal hard light, which easily exposes any makeup flaws, so the base makeup had to be kept exceptionally clean. During the shoot, I tried several seated postures; for example, in the cover photo eventually selected, I leaned forward and reached my hand out—this interactive pose suits the warm nighttime atmosphere nicely. Under this lighting, the White stockings cat ears ensemble showed great texture, allowing natural skin tones to subtly show through while flattering the leg lines.

Actually, cosplaying a character with this kind of loungewear aesthetic makes finding the right balance between "relaxation without looking unkempt" the hardest part. For instance, when resting hands on hips with legs crossed, keeping the spine straight is necessary to avoid looking slouched or lifeless. Conversely, spreading or crossing legs as shown in the photos causes the hoodie fabric to fold naturally, actually highlighting the slenderness of the lower body. This sense of contrast is precisely what makes Takanashi Hoshino so appealing.

Every time I put on these intricate plush ears and glowing props, it drew crowds at the convention venue. Many passing photographers would shout out, "Hoshino! Over here!"—you could really feel everyone's affection for this character. When doing this Anime cosplay, I paid special attention to my gaze, wearing light blue contact lenses in hopes of capturing that sleepy yet earnest look. Although styling the outfit this way felt extra cool and airy during summer, the night breeze at the venue made it quite comfortable.

Overall, the shooting atmosphere outside the Firefly ACG Expo was fantastic. The head accessories and overall outfit were more than enough to bring out the character's full everyday vibe. Throughout the process of continuously adjusting my breathing and expressions, as well as tuning chemistry with the photographer, I was very satisfied with the final results, perfectly capturing Hoshino's daily cuteness from Blue Archive.
