Putting on this makeup and costume of Vita and lying on the red velvet sofa, the moment my dark hair scattered across the cushions, the character's signature lazy yet elegant vibe came alive. This set of photos utilizes a relatively high-contrast lighting setup, where the coordination of harsh light and dark shadows highlights the colors of the facial makeup while clearly illuminating the leather texture of the prop gloves and the patchwork details of the sleeves. Because the white armor and dark blue fabric on the costume are quite smooth, extra attention was needed to watch the reflection points of the accessories when adjusting the lying posture, avoiding messy light spots. Of course, this lying posture itself places high demands on the relaxation of the shoulder and neck lines; to make the frame look natural, the shoulder and neck angles were actually adjusted behind the scenes multiple times. I really love the color contrast formed between the red sofa and the dark clothing, which, combined with a slightly sideways gaze, can bring out a bit of her composed sense of control from the storyline. To match this temperament, not only did the hair and makeup need detailed grooming, but even the curvature of the fingertips' placement was tested with several options, ultimately selecting this state with no excessive force but a focused gaze. Aside from adjusting the shoulder and neck angles, I also deliberately controlled my breathing rhythm to prevent the shoulder movements during flat lying from affecting the flatness of the costume's collar. The fold direction of the dark blue sleeves paired with the black half-finger gloves perfectly filled the visual negative space in the frame. The texture of the red velvet sofa established a retro keynote for the entire image, making the character appear rich in narrative even in a static state. The focus of this shoot was not on demonstrating complex movements, but rather on delicately expressing Vita's seemingly harmless yet deeply hidden sharp edges through the lines of still objects and layers of light and shadow. I hope everyone can feel my understanding of this Honkai Impact 3rd character setting and the styling thoughts put into it through this set of static photography.
