The first Shenzhen photoshoot for the 2024 New Year has finally been successfully completed, marking my first official photography collection of the year. From deciding on the shooting themes and makeup to discussing specific set designs with the photographer, a lot of thought went into it. A total of five completely different styles were prepared this time. Although the repetitive adjustments beforehand were quite exhausting, seeing the final photos come out made everything feel completely worth it.

The first outfit leaned toward a dark Gothic style, featuring an iconic white lace veil and short silver hair paired with a black-and-red vintage dress. Especially worth mentioning are the cross choker around the neck and black leg ring on the thigh, which, along with high heels, captured that mysterious and dangerous aura just right. As for props, we borrowed spider webs, withered bones, and dark red ambient lights on site; the entire scene was enveloped in a purplish-red eerie light, creating a Halloween-like spooky and eye-catching atmosphere that contrasted drastically with usual bright, cute shoots and yielded amazingly impactful photos.

The second outfit intentionally incorporated modified Chinese elements. Light silver hair was braided into a side braid decorated with a quaint hairpin, while the top featured a black backless corset with large sheer tulle sleeves, maintaining anime lightness while infusing a cool Chinese-style charm. In the studio, layered white semi-transparent calligraphy drapes were hung, paired with Chinese wooden window frames as backdrops; light passing through curtains became soft and translucent, presenting a serene texture reminiscent of an ink wash painting overall.

The third outfit returned to a sweet, warm-toned style, featuring a purple cross headpiece paired with a white tulle dress, while the huge bell choker around the neck felt retro and playful. To make the visuals softer, a venue covered with a white plush carpet was specifically chosen, decorated with numerous cream-white dried flower bouquets. Combined with natural-feeling lighting, the entire photo exuded a fluffy, healing feel.

The fourth outfit adopted a dreamy flower fairy style, pairing light blue wavy curls with red-and-black devil horns and white flower hair accessories. The dress was a black-and-blue color-block off-the-shoulder short dress, with a bouquet of light-colored fresh flowers held in hand. The photographer specifically arranged the scene beside sunlit white iron tables and chairs, utilizing shallow depth of field to blur background flowers and books/stationery, which, along with a composition reaching toward the lens, crafted an airy feeling as if visiting a wonderland.

The final look returned to simple, cool aloofness. Blonde hair was styled into playful yet lazy twin buns, paired with black bow ribbons and light blue contact lenses, making the overall makeup crisp and clean. The outfit was a white puff-sleeve shirt with black ribbons, adorned with a striking large turquoise pendant at the collarbone. Holding a blurred plush toy in hand, the mood felt like dazing off in a winter room, casual yet carrying a touch of solitary aloofness.

This photoshoot made me deeply appreciate that great cosplay photography is not just character fidelity, but a resonance of scenes, lighting, and model emotions. Five outfits, five makeup/hair styles, combined with rapid switches across several local Shenzhen scenes—although the shooting intensity was high, it greatly satisfied my desire to try different styles. Thanks to the photographer's careful guidance, everyone cooperated with great synergy. This photo set filled with diversity serves as a great start to my 2024 New Year photoshoot and a serious record of my passion, looking forward to more unique and fresh attempts in the future.
