Today is the birthday of the cutest girl in the entire world, Miss Elaina! For this birthday tribute project, I specifically chose Changsha Yanghu Wetland Park as our outdoor shoot location. Look at that little strand standing up on top of my head—yes, that's this witch's signature ahoge! For this shoot, we prepared two different vibes: one is a casual half-capelet look relaxing on a park bench, and the other is a fully geared witch ensemble casting spells in the blooming flower field.
In the bench shots, I deliberately crossed my legs. This not only made my legs appear more slender and elongated, but also showcased these custom boots wonderfully. The metallic accents and purple-red heels on the boots are definitely major highlights of the entire look. To embody Elaina's laid-back yet confident traveler demeanor, I kept my gaze relaxed and casual in this set, paired with the red magic tome in hand—just like taking a quiet reading break on a long journey.
Moving on to the flower field, the cosmos blossoms were in vibrant bloom; the pink, yellow, and white flowers created a marvelous chromatic interplay with the Ashen Witch's signature blue-and-pink attire. Putting on that oversized blue wizard hat lined with pink immediately brought that authentic magical atmosphere to life. The biggest challenge during this part was undeniably the hat itself: because the brim was so wide, even a slight breeze could easily cast shadows over my face or block my line of sight. The photographer spent considerable effort dialing in the perfect angles.
Regarding hair and makeup, the sheer length of this wig was a real endurance test. Floor-length straight silver-white hair tangles incredibly easily, so every time I switched poses or the wind kicked up, my assistant had to rush in to comb and smooth it out. For makeup, I accentuated the eyes with purplish-pink eyeshadow and light-colored contacts, aiming to recreate that enigmatic, mystical witch stare. The garment's layering is intensely detailed—the dark navy long cloak with purple lining, the yellow collar bow, and the star brooch were all faithfully rendered. The red book and magic wand were high-textured props that took a long time to select. The moment I outstretched my hand amid the sea of flowers, I truly felt transformed into the Ashen Witch soaring across the world on her broom. Looking at the final photos, all the sweat and exhaustion from shooting under the hot sun instantly vanished.
